Hello. I've recently bought game. It's awesome but I faced problem. I have GTX 780 and game crashes randomly. Not in any specific condition, just randomly crashes. I have 60 FPS (with VSYNC on). I found other with GTX 780 had same problem with error message and game crash:

D3D Error

DXBufferMan11::vb(..)

DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED

Also others said downgrading to drive 368.81 is a solution but not for me. Have you found any solution with this? I've no found it myself, so if there is thread about it can you guide me?

It was also mentioned that GPU should be upgraded. I know it's old card but upgrading isn't what I can do now.

Thank you in advance.

FIX CONFIRMED!

Video: GTX 780
OS: WIN 7 64bit

Driver: 358.91 (make sure that you use Custom installation and toggle 'Clean installation' box)

Settings: Extreme

Everything works fine. Was able to play 2 hours straight with no issues. Average FPS 40-60 (VSync on/off doesn't really matter)

Thank you for reply. Can you tell how to perform clean installation of Nvidia driver?

I'll test it in the evening.

My rig is:

Intel xeon E3 1225 v5

Evga Gtx 780 SLI

8GB of RAM

Mihalavr -- do you know what geforce driver you were using before rolling back to 358.91?  That driver is from 2015 -- so I'm curious if you were using a more up to date driver beforehand.

My current driver with my GTX 780Ti is 388.13, from Oct. 2017. I'm definitely getting crashes trying to play BoS now, when I didn't in the past (though it's well over a year since I tried to play BoS -- I wanted to jump in again now to try out the new SP career mode -- but it looks like the GTX 780 incompatibility is a real problem now).

Have you gotten any crashes using 358.91 yet?

@Elyos -- Though it's not necessary, I've had good luck using this tool (available on the Nvidia GeForce drivers forum) to uninstall and then clean install new geforce drivers:

https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/550192/geforce-drivers/wagnard-tools-ddu-gmp-tdr-manipulator-new-cpu-core-analyzer-updated-03-04-2018-/

It's pretty simple to use -- worth following the instructions though.

May be overkill, but I have found in the past that just installing one geforce driver over another using the default method can be problematic.

I installed suggested driver and now game works fine. Played for almost 2 hours without problem. Driver is from 2015 and don't know other game will work or not, haven't tested.

--- It was the latest Nvidia driver installed as I had "auto install" on my computer. Now I disabled this feature and rolled back the driver

--- No. The original problem with "DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED" problem is gone. However the game itself is full of other bugs.

Can you tell how to perform clean installation of Nvidia driver?

--- Sure. Download the driver you want to install (358.91) and during installation select "MANUAL" installation. On the next page you will see checkbox named "Perform clean driver installation"....check this and continue with the installation.

Good luck!
