t.16000m FCS HOTAS not being detected

As title says, in the key mapping settings it doesn't detect my joystick movement when I try to edit the axis and when I try to rebind an axis, it doesn't detect any input except for my mouse.

I've spent hours trying to figure this out with Google searches and nothing has worked. Shutdown and restarted multiple times, unplugging and plugging in again... Nothin...

 

Very frustrating. I've been wanting to play this for a long time

Hi,

 

you stated that your joystick isn't detected in the game. So general question to you:

Does your joystick work correctly on your Windows system? Is it clearly visible in

your input devices and more important, can you calibrate and test it there?

 

If not, then please don't blame the game...

Yes, I've used joy.cpl from windows+r and tested all the buttons. Works just fine. I also play DCS and throttle and stick work just fine.

I noticed that my devices config file (in: IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\input) is blank except for: 

 

configId,guid,model

 

at the top.

 

In another thread, someone shared what theirs looks like, and its got 6 different devices in that file that follows the above template. Whats going on with mine?

 

I've also tried uninstalling and re-installing on another drive. Nothin

Stupid question - in the game setup under settings/control devices:

Did you tick the joystick icon?

Got the same stick; it only works when it's plugged in before I switch my computer on. Once I plug it in whilst the system is running, the game won't recognise it (although Windows does).

Getting ZERO help from anyone official here. 

 

This is a joke. Requesting my refund. I'll be sticking with DCS from now on. A far superior game for the basic fact it actually detects my controls 

 

My controls work just fine in every other game I can test them in. Windows recognizes my flight controls just fine as well.

Clearly a major problem with the game itself.

Honestly, you didn't.

Very generic replies, almost like did you try turning it off and on again? Almost like your first day on the job for technical support.

Steam even detects my controllers and labels them correctly in Controller Setup in Big Picture Mode. I launch the game from Steam as well, and yet IL-2 has a massive brain fart

 

And yes, I've also tried running the game from the source file. Did nothing

Don't give up. I fly DCS, CLOD, used to fly MFS with A2A.

 

Il2BOX is the best/most immersive sim for me by far.  Just wanna say.

Don't play through Steam

 

Grabbed the official download from IL-2 and works as it should. Steam was playing games with me.

Great! Steam was the culprit eh? I knew the problem wasn't the game because I have the FCS HOTAS and mine worked fine from my initial installation. I knew it had to be something on your end. But most people don't want to hear that.

The culprit of joystick not recognized is STEAM Controller settings, if "Generic gamepad configuration support " is ticked there, other joysticks is not recognized by a game inside STEAM.

 

 

I un-tick all options, don't use gamepad's.

verry weird i got in mai a problem whit mine windows update and must made a fresh windows install.  before i  have  il2 working and also a steam verion whit the T16000 and the hotas. Now IL 2 simple dos not recognise this Joystick. i read above  But reely there be no concreet sollution given what to do. Think that now after so manny years il2 and steam more work togheter_

Simpley now one quistion. How i can mine Joystick T16000 working whit IL 2. Please give concreet answer not some as (steam be stuppid or you must bay direct i have bought bodenplate directley and when i reinstal froem steam even this be used so please concreet answers)

I dont know if you have alrady solved the probelm, but sometimes all you have to do is go into the game files; data, imput and then delete a .txt file named devices. That worked for me. When you relaunch the game it should recreate that file but recognising your joystick.

I did this when i first got the game and i have the same setup as you.
