Error #10001

I uploaded from Steam,  IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad.

 

All goes well in the setup until I click "start" on any mission. No matter what kind of mission I try to do ( quick play,  career, scripted ect) I get the #10001: error occurred during mission generation processes.

 

How to fix this ?

I have the exact same error in Career mode and there is another VR related thread that references this same error.  What is particularly furstrating is that no one from the Dev Team has offered any explanation of what this very specific error code means or how to fix it.  Someone said they "fixed" it by doing a complete reinstall.  That's a major pain so I guess I will have to sit and wait to see if the next patch fixes it.
