Blitzen Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 I posted a while ago about this problem.I have the latest version installed & working & I have Il-2 BoS & BoM in the exe Profile list from separate insall folders, BUT I still have it:cannot trust my settings to start with each new startup of sim. If i don't hear voice confirmation , I have to quit game , bring up the Tray tool, hit 'Profiles " & hit the one I'm playing with ( BTW the 1C Game studios version shows up in black in this menu- I don't know why when everything else is in blue...) then restart the game , get the voice confirmation & away I go.If I quite the game I usually have to go through the same process.I've got the Tray Tool in default ;in other words I haven't ticked any of the option boxes like 'power" or "service & startup" etc., so I may have missed a crucial setting/ Any ideas that might help/ thanks!
dburne Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Just be sure and start the Tray Tool before starting the Rift software. I found sometimes if I forget and started the Tray Tool after Oculus Home launched, it would fail to load my profile on the first game launch. Exited the game and re-launched the game, and all was well. I have Stalingrad, Moscow, and Kuban. I only have the Tray Tool pointed to one exe - IL-2.exe. ( it is showing in blue in my OTT profiles listing). Also be sure the OTT is set to " run as administrator". My profile launches every time for me with audio confirmation.

Right click on the Oculus Tray Tool launcher icon, click on properties - click on the Compatibility tab - down toward the bottom you will see a box " Run this program as administrator". Put a checkmark in it, click apply, and ok.
SCG_Fenris_Wolf Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Make sure to do the same for the Oculus Home exe, so it doesn't start before OTT has started or while OTT is starting. Both of that screws up the process and OTT won't work properly anymore.
Blitzen Posted March 31, 2018 Author Posted March 31, 2018 I had to re-install the Oculus TT but it is taking forever .I don't remember having this trouble before.Could I have downloaded a faulty zip for same?

Shouldn't take a long time to load. I would message ApollyonVR over on the Oculus Forums and send him your OTT log file and see if he can help get you sorted.

After waiting a very long time I stopped the install & opened the OTT folder in 'Program files(x86) & used the OTT exe. there. That seemed to work & got rid of the 'loading please wait' message.Hopefully I hit on the solution!

Hope so! Btw I never install things like this in that program files folder, it can seem to cause issue at times.

After one try it seems to have worked...BTW It self installed there- I didn't seem to have a choice. Can I simply move the entire folder elsewhere manually?
dburne Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 If it is working ok I would leave well enough alone. During the install you could have chosen a different folder for future reference.
