RaFiGer Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 (edited) @Community (UPDATE 01.05.2018) Actually made only for myself but because it is also ready to be used in public I release a Template for the Bf-109 G6 Model of the simulation. Many thanks for inspiration and all my respect for their artistic work I would like to contribute it to BlackHellHound1, Boomerang, BOO, DetCord12b, Zargos & Pierre which allowed me to present the template in its for now final state. The Template itself is a Photoshop file which has all needed Layers included to do pretty good skinning at a very good and accurate level IMHO, of course This is now Version V.003a which is at a very accurate status but I'm still working on a more enhanced on which will now take some more time You are able to combine the Weathering Layers to your comfort. Unfortunately my time is limited, so I could not include all what I had in mind, but due to the Photoshop structure I will add missing or new layers, which could be downloaded separately from the main file. Detcord12b made a nice ERLA Camouflage scheme which is included now together with a Panel lines Layer by BOO which makes Panel lines more present and highlighted! Changes and improvements to V.002 now in V.003a: Panel lines and Riveting complete overworked and improved Many new Details to inner and outer parts like antenna holders, umbrella holder and ventilation flaps (Kiemenplatte) Improved Stencils Maintenance Openings with now supported by Normal Map Textile and fabric layers for Ailerons, Elevators & Rudder are renewed and improved and included in Normal Map Maintenance Hatches Oxygen & Pressured Air Supply now same & correct size Push Openers for all Hatches added and improved Added "Nicht anfassen" Advices in Style from 1943 to 1945 New Alpha Layer New Normal Map To see the Stencils on Elevators and Ailerons here's a source (Pictures out of SQUADRONS Signal Walkaround No.43) Spoiler Addition (just to make sure for those who not familiar with Bump Maps): The textile and stiches of flaps, rudder and ailerons are handled with the Normal Map, so you don't need to enhance them with some layers! These new improvements makes it necessary to download the Template file and the Normal Map again. Already drawn paint schemes with older versions will normally fit without problems. Now to Business You can download the template and related or upcoming files and layers through my new page (where the Bf-109 G4 Template is also be available) or via the direct link I added to this post! 1. Visit my site at RaFiGer.de through: RaFiGer's Template page for IL2 Sturmovik Simulation 2. Sample skins (also available through my page) in Version V003a (Update 01.05.2018): Version with non-problematic markings are available on my Template page Sample skin for Bf-109-G6 of IV./JG 3 in 4k resolution Sample skin for Bf-109-G6 of IV./JG 3 in 2k resolution Sample skin for Bf-109-G6 of I./JG 52 in 4k resolution Sample skin for Bf-109-G6 of I./JG 52 in 2k resolution Here are some pictures In Game: Spoiler Happy skinning with the hope you like the template & do some pretty skinning work Salute from RaFiGer Edited May 1, 2018 by RaFiGer New Template Version V.003a 8 8 9
Zargos Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 Thank You for sharing your work RaFiGer. I know how much work this stuff requires !
RaFiGer Posted March 29, 2018 Author Posted March 29, 2018 @UF_Zargos Thank you too for your efforts in creating this wonderful Template for the P39 I'm on my way to do it similar for the Bf-109 G6, but as you wrote its a hell of a work!!! And thank you very much for all your fantastic skins, there like back in the old times always real pieces of Art, I admire them very, very much! Wolfram-Harms Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 Thanks a lot, RaFiGer, for your excellent work. I will make best use of it! 1
FAW-Tromplamort Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 (edited) Thank you RaFiGer for your template which is gorgeous. But I have one complain: I dont see the point of locking all layers which at some point make the template nearly useless.... I understand you want to protect some layers that required a lot of work but come on even national markings are locked! Edited April 1, 2018 by FAW-Tromplamort 1

You can unlock every LAYER - at least in PHOTOSHOP. Select the layer and click on the lock symbol at the top of the LAYERS menue. Edited April 1, 2018 by Wolfram-Harms 1

I understand you want to protect some layers that required a lot of work but come on even national markings are locked! I'm using gimp and save for the usual things like having to move some sub layers out of their parent groups before they will work I see no other issues - turned the crosses into Xs and painted em pink to check. All seems as it should to me at first look and well done. Thanks Rafi!! 1

I understand you want to protect some layers that required a lot of work but come on even national markings are locked! Hello FAW-Tromplamort, it was not intend to look the layers by myself it was thought as save issue to prevent unintended deletion as Wolfram Harms stated they could be unlocked in Photoshop without problems! I do not know what happen in Gimp but see below the unlocked Template I have unlock all layers beside the mask in a second download, here's the link: Bf-109-G6 public Template (Version V.001, 29.03.2018 UNLOCKED LAYERS) 4 hours ago, detcord12b said: Outstanding work, Rafi! E69_julian57 Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 (edited) One question, when I open the template it tells me that the text of the WK. Nr. I do not have the source, you could tell me which it is. Thank you Edited April 2, 2018 by E69_julian57
RaFiGer Posted April 2, 2018 Author Posted April 2, 2018 (edited) @E69_julian57 Yes, I think you need the Truetype Font!!! Sorry, here is a link to the Fonts I have used, I another one is missing please tell me and I will include it also. The one for the Werk.Nr. is DINPro These are all Freeware Fonts TrueType Fonts used in Gf-109-G6 Template Edited April 2, 2018 by RaFiGer

RaFiGer Posted April 2, 2018 Author Posted April 2, 2018 @detcord12b Definitely brilliant I imagine your also later in the year with fantastic Bf-109 G10 & 14 in late war camouflage, as you did already some!
FAW-Tromplamort Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 Sorry for the delay in the answer but I was away for the week-end. Thank you very much RaFiGer for uploading unlocked layers template. I dont know why but I couldn't unlock any layer (nor any group of layers) in your previous template and that was a real pain having such a good template and not be able to use it to make some skins. Again thank you very much you rock.
E69_julian57 Posted April 5, 2018 Posted April 5, 2018 Hello RafiGer, creating a skin with your template and using the alpha channel "dark" this error appears, it is the box of the lid cubes of the wheel, I do not know if you can eliminate that box leaving the lid cube or use another alpha channel that does not of the error but losing the most matt tone ...? 1
RaFiGer Posted April 5, 2018 Author Posted April 5, 2018 Hello E69_julian57! I think the reason is that here in the Alpha map it get the wrong tone! I will investigate and fix it! Thank you for making me aware of this issue
RaFiGer Posted April 5, 2018 Author Posted April 5, 2018 (edited) Hello E69_julian57, I have fixed it, it was a complete to light setting of the wheel section and I have reassembled the template with this new Alpha Layer, which is also now a layer included in the template. Thank you very much & good skinning First post with new download links! Edited April 5, 2018 by RaFiGer Updating template!!! 1 2
JG7_X-Man Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 Oh yeah! Another weekend shot thanks to my friend RaFiGer! 1
DetCord12B Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 Many thanks for your continued work and support of the template, Rafi. We all appreciate it! 1

DetCord12B Posted April 10, 2018 Posted April 10, 2018 Rafi, I did the Elra pattern for the wings and wanted to know if you wanted the layer to add to the template? 1
RaFiGer Posted April 10, 2018 Author Posted April 10, 2018 @DetCord12B, yes that would be very nice, I include it in a separate separate Camouflage Layer & we will get over time a complete Template with every kind of camouflage sets And later on it could be extent to the G10, G14 and also for the K4! That is great, thank you very much! What you think it is better to include it directly in a new template version to have an ongoing version with additional layers?

You should use it however you want and I'll leave it up to you as to how to include it. I need to finish up the tail (horizontal stabilizers), forgot about them. I should advise you that I only did the upper surfaces (wings etc) and not the fuselage, I hope that's okay? If not, I can go ahead and do the fuse camo if needed, just let me know.
RaFiGer Posted April 10, 2018 Author Posted April 10, 2018 Hey Detcord, not a problem as you like I can finished it too I have send PM to Jason about pinning the Templates for P39 and Bf-109 G4 & G6

I typically blur (gaussian) my patterns differently depending upon the historical aircraft, however I'll do two separate layers. One blurred and one not, that way you can use the version I provide or adjust the default layer to whatever you deem necessary. EDIT - I'll try and get them to you before the weekend. RaFiGer Posted April 15, 2018 Author Posted April 15, 2018 (edited) @Community I'm already working on a complete new Template for the Bf-109 G series to enhance to Panel Line works and riveting according to reprints of the original manufactering drawings which I own since IL2 in 2002 & 2003 (A little dust already covered them) It is meant in way BlackHellHound1 did it for the Bf-109 F series and the IL2. My goal is to be as accurate as possible to archive a result which brings the Template to a new level. In my library are a bunch of books which allow me to work as detailed as possible. So over the next week I will focus on this work hoping to give some details during the next week, showing the progress so far archived. Like spectre intented I will build the template on a Aluminium, Wood and textile base so you will see the plane body without painting at all. I'm confident that this will work out and allowing the wheatering specialist to archive a fantastic result related to wearness and colour chipping So therefore I will from the start give download links to the template hoping to find our best skinners in the mute to include their ideas So, stay tuned and thanks for all help now & in the future Edited April 15, 2018 by RaFiGer 1 3
