So how do I install a mod?

Do I just drop them in data? The mod I have doesn`t explain where to drop them. I was hoping to see a `Mods` folder but there isn`t one.

Best to use the JSGME mod installer...  Mods can then be activated and de-activated with ease without clumsy manual install methods.

OvGME is another - not sure JSGME is still actively supported (not sure it needs actively supporting though).

I use OvGME - I have the archives, backups of the original files and zipped mods folders in the One drive - its nice since I don't have to worry about full fresh installs for games. Works well for me with Clod, DCS and BOX.

So how does we actually do it?

Download the mod, download JSGME ?

Then what is the next step?

 

And in game we need mods on? and we can just turn mods off and we dont see it?

 

How do we uninstall the mod if we dont like it?

JSGME Setup

1. Install JSGME in the main Il-2 directory
2. Create a MODS folder in the main Il-2 directory
3. Run JSGME.exe and select the MODS folder

Enabling/Disabling a Mod

1. Extract compressed mods to the aforementioned MODS folder.
2. Run JSGME.exe and enable/disable chosen mods

Using Mods

• Make sure that mods on option is selected in the game
• Simply disable mods on to play without mods
• Completely remove a mod by disabling it in JSGME and deleting it from the MODS folder

Can we please get a link for JSGME! I cannot believe the number and length of descriptions/instructions throughout our current forums that leave out STEP ONE. I only seem to be able to find an old JSGME through out my searches. Not a single member has posted a link or website. 

 

This would be the most basic post for verifying installation, version, troubleshooting and getting mods to work.
