Mods on problem

Recommended Posts

So I went and installed JSGME in the root folder of the game. Next I went into the game and ticked the box saying mods on. Now when I start the game all I get is the hangar with an IL-2 in it but no menus.

I can get back into the game normally if I turn the mods off in the config. (modes = 0)

Does anyone know what I did wrong?

Can`t directly help, sorry, but I just wanted to ask where is the JSGME utility? I searched but it didn`t come up.

That's odd - did you install any actual mods or just put jsgme.exe in your root game folder?

You could use the copy/version I'm using - available here:  http://www.mediafire.com/file/xv2vsmrfs7zc6xi/JSGME.zip

I tried installing the HD Grass texture mod. It seems to install it to the right folder.

I also tried deleting jsgme again. As soon as I activate mods on it takes me straight to the hangar. No login screen or anything.

I was just wondering if you managed to get the mods on working as I'm having exactly the same problem.

Sadly no, I still get the same issue as stated in the OP.

That sucks. Oh well, I guess I'll be sticking with no mods too!

Hello guys,

strange what's happening to you. I can run the game perfectly with or without mods - the only drawback is there are nearly no MP servers

allowing the use of mods (well, only one empty one to be honest).

First of all, I'd suggest you the following things:

- Do not install JsGME / OvGME directly in your games directory. My advise: install it in a different folder like f.ex. "tools". I've installed all

my "auxiliary" programs like OvGME, Teamspeak, TrackIR etc. there, so I can manage them better and make an easy backup of it.

- I know JsGME and used it for very long time. Now I switched to OvGME, which is similar to JsGME, but new generation and easy to use.

And you can manage different profiles for different moddable games. You can find this neat tool here: www.ovoid.org/ovgme/downl.htm

I use the Moscow map mod for the moment and it works flawlessly. Hope this might help you.

Cheerio

Hi!

May be this helps, you do not need to install GSM in il 2 folder, instead create a folder in X: (X: is your hard drive letter) and call it JSGME put all extracted files about JSGME in this folder, then

please see the pics.
1. Create a shortcut to JSGME.exe and place it on the desktop
2.Rename this shortcut to JSGME.bos or what ever you want.
3. Right-click to this shortcut go to properties
4. Click the Shortcut tab
5. In the "start in" box, specify the path to where your game is installed where X: is your hard drive letter.

for example "X: \ Program Files \ 1C Game Studios \ IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad"
6. Don't forget that the path must be written between two quote characters!
7. Create MODS folder inside IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad folder! not inside bin or data folders.
8. Add your mods inside MODS folder
9. Click on the
JSGME.bos shortcut, which starts JSGME.exe
10. When JSGME.exe started, select your mods on the left side window and click the arrow to enable those which move to right side window in
In this way you can use JSGME.exe for multiple games, just create shortcuts to each game and repeat the above procedure for it.

Well, G_GART, I suggest you try and have a look for OvGME because with this tool you don't need to mess around

with the file properties like you demonstrated with JvGME. With OvGME you can specify the game path directly,

thus giving you the opportunity to manage different games with mods in one tool.

Thanks for the replies guys. I shall try doing these and see what happens!

And above all DO NOT install your game into the "Program files" directory! This will give you all kinds of problems depending on Windows persistent protection in that place! If your game is in there copy it and place it anywhere in a HDD, preferebly on another disc, but else anywhere out of "Program files". Make a new start shortcut and remove the old one and you´ll be good to go!
