Buttkicker IL2 code 20% discount, get feedback to your joystick

This worked really well, then I contacted Buttkicker , they seemed to liked it, so they decided to offer a discount to  IL2 pilots , so they get some feedback to their joysticks, and they are offering a 20% dscount if you put IL2 at the discount coupon at checkout.

You get a different feel for each effect, engine rpms, landing gear, ground roll, machine guns, cannons, hits , explosions.

It makes Il2 a lot more alive.

I used something like this that I put together. Do you have a link?

Highly recommend!!! Have 2 on my G.ameseat, and another one on Omega GT chair central post.  Absolutely love it.

No shipping, no customer. Damn. I'd have really liked to try this.

Btw,  don't think you will ever get this cheaper!

Point is, they don't deliver to Europe at all. There are some used ones on sale in Germany for 230 € and more, that's roughly 365 Canadian Dollars.

....especially if youre not an American in the US :-)

Well you can do what I did.

Just buy a couple of body shakers https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bodyshaker-in-custodia/dp/B0034JI3EE/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1522168603&sr=8-2&keywords=buttkicker and a cheap amp. Attach them to your chair or sim table and it`ll do a pretty good job of simulating bangs and hits and the rumble of your shenanigins.

I was looking online for a diagram that would show how the wiring sequence would go if you are using a 5.1 surround system (where I already have a Logitech subwoofer in place, but the subwoofer has the amp inside of it and is the hub for all of the speakers.  But all of the diagrams I'm finding online show it hooking to a separate stereo amp or straight to the computer (where my 5.1 speakers already plug in).  I'm guessing you have to use that splitter (or a y-connector) somehow on my type of setup.

I will tell those guys some european customers are interested and they should find a shipping method if they wanna sell more units.

Thank you motoadve :salute:

why do you guys want to pay 160$ for something that can be made for half the price? Plus you'll enjoy the DIY factor a lot more than clamping on the pre-fabbed expensive plug'n'play stuff.

Here what you need:

- bass shaker:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002ZPTBI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

- bass amp:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072KDNW3F/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

- power supply for the bass amp:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074J81XRB/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

22 gauge speaker wire:

https://www.amazon.com/Gauge-Black-Speaker-Audiopipe-Ground/dp/B00UAZVEBY/ref=pd_sbs_23_2?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00UAZVEBY&pd_rd_r=6XMW1VWJ526KZQDCZVMS&pd_rd_w=C2xAG&pd_rd_wg=hYXAL&psc=1&refRID=6XMW1VWJ526KZQDCZVMS

total cost ~$80.

Connect it to your sound card output and enjoy all the rattling it can bring. You do need to figure out where you want to mount the shaker though, but that's half the fun!

I suspect that my setup is similar to yours, seafire. I've got comprehensive vibration through my stick, pedals, and seat. I posted images and details in motoadve's immersion thread:

For me the vibration set-up is like VR; I won't fly without it.

You got a nice setup there. Haven`t pushed to VR yet (still on TIR), but one day...

Just bought one for my new setup. Cant wait to try it.

I ordered an amp and a bass shaker plus wiring for a total of 75€, which results in the same experience, for the Virpil mount. If it works I will get a second bass shaker, for the chair as well. Thanks for the idea! ;)

I'm guessing this doesn't work in VR because of the built in headphones in the rift ?

Oh sure it works fine, you can tell your Rift to mirror sounds to your Soundcard/primary Sound device. This can be done via Oculus Software, Steam VR has under the audio tab the same option. Then you plug your amp that is connected with your shaker into the line out of your PC and now you have the Game sound via Rift headphones, the rumble comes from the line out ...Big fun, but be sure to put your chair or desk on rubberpads, it does a hell of vibration :)

I got 3d printed anchors to mount the Rift sensors to the wall as well as the rubber pads for desk and chair ;)

Yes it works with Rift, you can download Voice Meter for free and choose and fine tune how do you want your shaker to work

That thing is way overpriced!.... .

I built my own with a bass shaker and attached it to the desk. I do enjoy it but i tend to forget to turn it on.

The good thing about these devices is that they go by the bass on the sound, so it works with any game, video, song...

Edit: Please someone tell me I'm not the only one who keeps reading "buttlicker" when reading the title.

Wasn`t it you who gave me the idea over a year ago? Someone here did.

And no I don`t read buttlicker! lol!

Got mine in yesterday and set it up. Still tweaking it today, but really impressed with the new dimension it adds to the sim experience. I was flying the Hs-129 this morning and it felt like the MK 103 was firing beneath me - really awesome and enjoyable. Thank you Motoadve for contacting the company and working that discount for us - - - - - -

At first I thought this was a gimmicky toy to buy even with the good reviews out there. I went ahead and bought it; even felt silly setting it up. Wife just rolled her eyes at me.

That said, OMG this thing really adds to the immersion factor. I've flown in an old T-34 trainer before so I remember feeling the rumble of the engine and rolling on takeoff. Buttkicker does a great job of simulating every feel. I'm definitely impressed with it.

Is the setup pretty tough using it for each different sim or is it plug and play? I play IL2, DCS, and iRacing.

SCG_motoadve

Plug and play , very easy.

I just went to the website. Nice! I thought it would hook up via USB and have all this software to sort though. It goes straight through the audio hookups cool. May have to get one and mount it to my Obutto Ozone. Best to mount it to the bottom of the chair or joystick mount? Or someplace close to both to get best of both worlds. Seems pretty neat might have to get this thanks for the discount.

How does it work with headphones? It's more of a "feel" rumble than like bass rumble right?

SCG_motoadve

Yes more than a feel and a bass rumble, although you get that to.

You can download Voice meter (for free) and manage how much effect you want, and what effects you prefer to have more noticeable.

I have it under the seat and joystick, but if I have to choose one, I would say joystick for sure.

Just picked one up. Woops :) Thanks for the post.

Gonna attached it to my Obutto joystick attachment base that should make it shake the stick as well as the chair...and probably the entire cockpit awesome!

It's a pity they don't ship/sell outside US. Any update of such a possibility ? (I'm in UK and would like to try it for sure)

You will love it. I got mine late last week, and it mounts perfectly below the rear of the seat. The square shape of the mount fits the Obutto Rev3 like it was made for it.

It adds immersion as advertised. Funny how a little extra sensory input can make so much difference, but it really does.

Hey all,

Just picked up a Buttkicker 2 and screwed it in below the seat in my Obutto Ozone thanks again for the discount coupon. Any recommendations on placement for best effect? Also what does the dial and the high and low buttons do on the amp? Right now just using stock settings and the volume buttons. Anyone share what works best with iRacing and flight sims (DCS/IL2)?

Just tested it out at Bristol in iRacing for a few minutes and it's pretty cool. Shaking some of my plastic flight sim gear I have mounted but not as much noise as I thought and you can feel it in the chair, very cool.

I take it the red clipping button coming on is bad? Thanks!

Got my Buttkicker back from them. The amp was fine but the shaker was borked. They sent me a replacement shaker and cables. What a great company for standing behind their product.

I relocted it to the joystick bracket. It feels somewhat like force feedback. Cool!
