US63_SpadLivesMatter Posted March 27, 2018 Posted March 27, 2018 I stumbled on a show on Amazon Prime about some Russian pilots in WW2. No idea if the show is any good, as I don't have time to watch it; but somebody here might be interested. If you have seen it, maybe you can let us know what you thought of it? https://smile.amazon.com/gp/video/detail/B07968VSZX/ref=pd_cbs_318_2
seafireliv Posted March 27, 2018 Posted March 27, 2018 (edited) I have Amazon prime so will check it out. Cheers. Edit: Well so far I`m not impressed. It seems to be trying to be a soap opera rather than anything realistic hence the amount of women that seem to be commanding the men around and causing emotional dramas. SCG_motoadve Posted March 27, 2018 Posted March 27, 2018 (edited) Its ok, planes looks like made of wood and cardboard though, but I watched the whole series, entertaining. Edited March 27, 2018 by II./JG77_motoadve
-SF-Disarray Posted March 27, 2018 Posted March 27, 2018 Seems alright, kind of reminds me of The Dawns here are Quiet. The translation isn't bad, some odd word choice here or their in the English, at least based on the little bit of it I watched. As for women being in charge of men I don't think that is such an issue. Women did serve as combat pilots in the Soviet Union and as officers. As I understand it the units were generally segregated, but a Captain is a Captain.
Bearcat Posted March 27, 2018 Posted March 27, 2018 This show is on You Tube... It is not bad if you look at the story.. Look past the effects.. The stories are good. The effects are not that bad.. but for perfectionists... like you have in the flightr sim community .. they will find fault.. but the stories are good. The protagonist is a cutie too..
=LD=Hethwill Posted March 27, 2018 Posted March 27, 2018 Seen it a while ago. Perfectly acceptable and entertaining. Who didn't watch ba ba black sheep squadron and other similar flicks ? Same deal
56RAF_Roblex Posted March 27, 2018 Posted March 27, 2018 Oh you mean 'The Attackers'? I watched it all on Youtube and quite enjoyed it. Some of the ground and air to air combat stuff looked very amateur but there were definitely real in-cockpit shots as well so they must have used a two seater. I never got through the one about the Night Witches because I saw 'The Attackers' and switched to that but I keep meaning to go back and finish it.
Archie Posted March 27, 2018 Posted March 27, 2018 Watched the whole series on youtube last week (and the second one!) quite enjoyed it really.
Trooper117 Posted March 27, 2018 Posted March 27, 2018 Watched it awhile back... light entertainment in a WWII aviation setting. Quite enjoyed it I have to say... did I sit there and pull it to pieces, er... no
