Multi Monitor Complaint

Yeah, I know, the developers have done yeoman's work in the last couple of years.  I mean, I am really impressed and happy with the progress that has been made.

 

The inevitable "However"

I do continue to hope for an update that allows us to customize the chats (techno, multiplayer, status, popup map and the little "HUD" thing in the lower left) so that we can move, resize, adjust transparency, etc.  MOSTLY move though.

Also, I've been waiting and hoping for years that the GUI for all the screens where the player isn't actually in the "game arena" to use only one screen on a multi-monitor set up.  I use a 5760 x 1080 setup which works pretty darned good in the "game" part of the game but, because the briefing map isn't scaled properly for such a wide resolution, it is cumbersome to use.  Also, having all the click menus,

briefing, etc flung to the edge of a wide monitor is a pain to use.

IL2 Blitz (formerly Cliffs of Dover, Storm of War, whatever) handles this better.

For some reason, neither DCS or this series handles this well.  If you guys fix it you could have another advantage over that title

 

Anyway, still hoping and waiting.

As a fellow triple, I feel your pain.

I will say that things are much better in 3.001. The rendering and spotting are finally at a stage where I find the experience enjoyable and I'm able to play in 6K at 100+ fps.

The whole '3D' experience is finally lovely.

 

The problem is with the GUI, as you have mentioned, like the map and the chat/techno chat. I can't read the chat log in flight without moving my head, and therefore TrackIR and my whole view. Making quick glances at chat while keeping your head on target impossible.

 

Also the bomb sight is functionally unusable in ultrawide. The top and buttom of the sight are cropped.
