HugoDutchWineCape Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 (edited) Gents - need some basic pointers/help, And bit confused with the exact directory folders on my HDD WHERE to download some files, re: specifically the (free) SP Scripted Campaigns generated by forum users: My problem to identify the CORRECT folders - and it's a bit confusing where to extract these free generated campaign (and 4K skin) zip files, as I bought the following (in order) over time from Steam/directly from IL-2's website: (1) I bought BOS (with 2 special planes) via Steam; (2) I bought BOK direct from IL-2's website; (w/ the 2 special planes; how can one NOT have a Spit!) (3) I bought BOM direct from IL-2's website PS: All three modules (BOS/BOK/BOM) show in my "active module bought" in the start page if I start the game via Steam's shortcut. Now that I want to download a BOK free Scripted Campaign, in what directory structure specifically should I download the non-steam zip files? I only see Steam's .../steamapps/common/IL-2 Sturmovik of Stalingrad/ on my HDD -- and for the life of me, cannot find BOK/BOM's file structure (I have only 2 drives, a C (SSD Win7Pro sys drive) and a D drive for all other files...? Redglyph Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 (edited) Hey Hugo, You can put the campaign folders under <IL-2>\data\Campaigns, in which <IL-2> is your main IL-2 installation directory. Make it such as you have for instance <IL-2>\data\Campaigns\Taman Bridgehead-G6 <IL-2>\data\Campaigns\JG51 over Velikie Luki and so on, the mission files must be under those directories. Simple mission files (not campaign) go under <IL-2>\data\Missions, no need to create a directory there but you can, it's a choice, directories are shown in the sim menu. The skins files are to be put into <IL-2>\data\graphics\skins\<aircraft>. I don't have the Stream version but I believe in that case, <IL-2> would be the one you mentioned, the structure should be the same. EDIT: if you have the shortcut to the non-Steam version in your start menu or on the desktop, you can check its properties with a right-click, it'll show you the IL-2 installation directory (<IL-2>/bin/game/Launcher.exe). You did install the non-Steam version I suppose? Others here may tell whether it's possible to migrate the Steam version to the non-Steam one, which would be the best option. HugoDutchWineCape Posted March 24, 2018 Author Posted March 24, 2018 (edited) Ahhh, of course. Many thanks Sire! as to the your recommendation .... "....possible to migrate the Steam version to the non-Steam one, which would be the best option." That seems to be prudent. I'd rather support the producers of IL-2 directly, then via Steam - and any monies the latter "siphon off" I'm a proponent in rather supporting smaller producers then big conglomerates So, can any kind gentleman ( lady? ) here enlighten me as to how to go about doing just that; migrating all off Steam, given the sequence on BoX expansions I have bought (above?) Much obliged in advance. Edited March 24, 2018 by HugoDutchWineCape
