Radio spotting

How does it work? You press tab > 7 > 1 asking your radio hq about mission targets, it says something like 270, 10 km.

And I am a bit lost, does he mean that targets are 10km from my position on 270 degrees? So I must look at compas and fly at 270° 10km to find targets?

When I ask vector to base and he says something like 90, I fly at 90° all the time and he always says 90° no matter where I am. I could probably pass the base and be behind it and he still keeps saying the same number.

How does it all works?

270 is the vector that you need follow the meet the nearest enemy.

10 KM is the range of the target a moment - this range is limited to up 15 Km I think.

Vector to home base - depends if in SP or MP.

In SP the base give you first the heading for the "ingress point" and not the base itself, when you reach this waypoint if ask again will receive a new direction update, generally at this point the base is already on visual range - if don't ask will end out of fuel or in Norway.  :)

And when enter in base "circle of capture" will receive instructions to land if you are in group (if are the group leader will be the last to receive instruction to land), if are alone the base ignore you, so land by your own judgement.

In MP think that give you the heading for the spawn base itself, but not sure, long time that don't play.

So for vector to base i am suppose to follow that 90 degree on my compas and just ask radio guy from time to time to see if i get new info?

Also bear in mind that the vectors you are given are approximate.   When you are told the target is 150  it means 'between 135 and 165'   If the target was at 168 they would say 180.

Yes, and this work well, but you need know the base surrounds to recognize when arrive near and do the final approach visually.

Is not big issue at short distances, but consider too the ~10º of magnetic deviation.
