Throttle auto control staying on after turning off autopilot

Hi there.

 

Has anyone else encountered the bug where Throttle Auto Control stays on even after turning off autopilot, despite having the option turned off in difficulty settings (as a custom option)?

 

I've looked for a keybinding to toggle it back off, but can't find it. Am I missing something?

To clarify, this condition lasts for more than a few seconds and even after moving your throttle? You are unable to get control of the throttle.

It's not quite like that... basically the icon for Throttle Auto Control stays up (in the technochat section, like when you turn on autopilot), despite turning off the autopilot. Then everything is fine as long as the engine doesn't overheat... but the moment overheat occurs the throttle is automatically chopped back. It acts like a governor of sorts, where I can't increase the throttle if it will cause the engine to heat up too much.

 

This will often leave me in major trouble if the engine heats up in the middle of a heavy dogfight, and I find my throttle stuck at 20% because the engine heated up a little (normally fixed by just opening the rads a bit).

 

I'm pretty sure this corresponds to the "Throttle Auto Control" option in the custom difficulty settings, which I have off (only reason I use custom is to not have nav markers, and have external views), since the technochat when I turn on autopilot diplays that same icon with that label. Normally it goes away when I turn the autopilot off, but sometimes it sticks on, and no amount of autopilot toggling will make it go away.

A related observation: Last night I noticed in a Attack Soft Target mission, than when I received the mission complete message the RPM Limiter turned on. I even tried turning it off using the mapped key, to no effect. I had to fly the mission again, and sure enough the effect repeated itself.

 

There's some weird stuff happening with these autopilot option.

I concur. Ihave the same issue. I think it may be connected to hud off/on command. If i leave hud on, turn autopilot on then off the throttle governor goes of to. If I have hud on, activate autopilot, turn hud off, turn hud on, then autopilot off the throttle governor remains active. It is the symbol with the counter clockwise arrow. 

 

If I have hud off then deactivate the autopilot then turn hud on all the auto engine symbols remain on. Although I do believe only the throttle governor control remains active. Radiator control and rpm control remain hnder pilot control for sure.

 

I am playing with Oculus Rift.

 

Last mission I was watching the techno chat carefuly. I noticed that when I turned the autopilot off the RPM governer also turned off. When I went full power on the engine the governor turnd on automaticly. I have keybinding for it but it doesn't work.

I had the same issue a few times. Since then i never used the autopilot again.
