I know this has been discussed in the forums a few years ago but I seem to be having a problem with the number of players that can join my server. We cannot get more than seven to join successfully. This has just happened, I don't remember it happening before update to 3.001.

The Dserver .sds player limit is set to 20. When player 8 joins he either simply can't or he doesn't see all the air spawn points (I have four air spawns). It is a training server with eight irfields at which ALL aircraft for that side are available (another problem?). There are a total 11 'Arifields' which includes two Tank bases, 1 Neutral airfield and those eight as four each side Red/Blue.

In the mission editor, bottom right hand corner, is a list of limits which have previously been declared as not used or not implemented. The Airfields limit is 11 which looks ok but the Planes limit is 8 and I am wondering of this is now effective (surely not with all the multiplayer servers running up to 80 players?). Is there a way to change the plane limit so that I can test the theory?

If anyone has any other ideas could they please let me know.

We have monitored a massively increased CPU usage on DServer since the 3.001 update, this has been reported in the "Technical Issues and Bug Reports" section already and might be related:

Maybe your server's CPU just gets overloaded once you have 7 players connected?

This however should be clearly visible on the DServer.exe, you should see usage spikes and the Tick Delay will exceed e.g. a value of 15.

Cheers!

I assume you should also be getting the "Multiplayer server overload" messages in game chat.

In that case yes.

Thanks Guys.

I'm still looking into it, a bit low on time atm. However we did not get any "Multiplayer Overload" messages.
