BoB Airfields

So, because BoB takes place on the Western front, will we see paved/non dirt airfields? I think I recall hearing about the Allies using metal sheeting/ matting for AFs.

Sure...BoBo will have different kinds of airfields. Whether it includes Marston matting/PSP (pierced steel planking), I'd guess sure, probably. While we have rain and snow in game now, we don't have rasputitsa. So it's all good.

Btw, I haven’t noticed but upon landing on a concrete runway in the sim, do the tires make an initial rubber to concrete skid sound?   Or would that only be with heavy transport aircraft?

Airplanes of all sizes can make the chirping sound when the wheels touchdown.

Have you noticed the detailed tire tracks in the snow on the runways in the winter maps?

I noticed Yesterday, and was amazed!  the lifting up of fresh snow just behind the wheels is just amazing.

 

Also wanted to say that all Stalingrad airfields have amazing ground textures. Now I finally feel like on the real airfield.... wonderful job.
