Force FeedBack stick ...does it work now

i have a MS FFB I've used for years but initially it didn't work well for BoM & BoM so I stopped using it. Recently I've thought I might give it another try to see how it would work with VR...so here's my question : is it worth it? Does it still have the kind of "bounce " that it does have in CloD? I don't wat to re-do key stroke commands for the old stick if it really isn't worth it...

Works for me with a Microsoft Sidewinder FFB2. There's an ongoing discussion or two about whether or not elevator trim is correct with these joysticks but other than that it's been a real immersion-booster with BoX.

It's not like the old Il2/1946 days when firing your guns would leave you with a sprained wrist; and there's little that will push up the pucker factor like feeling your joystick get heavier and start to lock up as you're desperately trying to pull out of the dive to which  you so foolishly overcommitted.

The Yak-7 didn't disable the FFB on my MS FFB2 like it did the first couple of times. That's good. :)

I have two installs on this sim:Steam & the originally downloaded one-that's the one I'll try it on & see if that & VR will work...;)

Last night I did try using the old trusty FFB with my non- Steam install of BoX and redoing the key settings in the second column to match the buttons on that stick. All worked well with my Oculus Rift VR , but I have to say it was sort of underwhelming, even with forces full on.Bumps were noticeable in landing & take offs ,subtle but not bad....nothing in recoil even using the 37mm cannon in the new P-39...I did notice the force being present in maneuvers and in stalls so again not bad & worth the try. I have to decide whether to use the stick with its minimum of useable buttons or go back to my new stick that has many more options. Time will tell.

I play with a MS Sidewinder FF "Frankenstick" CH  Combatstick mod.  The FF is working great.

The only issue is that trim is ineffectual in many aircraft when FF is enabled in the game.  The P-39 is quite unpleasant due to how much forward stick you have to apply for level flight because it can't be trimmed to fly level.

I've only EVER used a Sidewinder FF2 with IL-2 from the very first version of the sim back in 2001 to the present day. The same stick too which illustrates the superb design and construciton. The FF is good. Weapons are signalled, stalls are very easy to stay on the edge of because the stick will TELL you when the aircraft is going floppy and landings are made easier when you can feel the wheels contact the ground to name just a few. I would not and probably could not fly without FF.

Very similar to this (https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/27099-ms-ffb2-modded-stick-for-you/) without the riser.

You disassemble a CH Combatstick (not FlightStick) and wire it up to a Teensy LC which appears as a usb joystick and replace the MS Sidewinder stick portion.  The computer sees it as two separate usb joysticks - an MSFFB2 (the base) and a custom Teensy LC joystick (the CH Flightstick) so you get FF but more buttons, hats, and ergonomics.
