Career AI formation cannot take off

Getting ready for take off for a bomber escort mission with a flight of Lagg3s lined up on the runway, ready for take off. The flight leader (AI), instead of requesting take off clearence, requests clearence to TAXI to runway, turns 180 degrees to taxi back to point where taxiway crosses the runway, and in trying to do so, bumps into other members of the flight, waiting on the runway for take off. 

 

This happens every time when the mission starts on the runway, so the only way to play career now is air starts, which is a bummer.

 

I have a track (120 mb). Compressed it into a rar file, but still 12 mb. Upload limit is 5 mb so I don't know how to upload it.

Briefly...what IAP at what airfield and campaign? Does this happen early in the career (maybe I can duplicate it)?

 

Don't bother trying to upload a track. The next time you have a career mission that does something weird like this, make a zip file of the Missions folder contents. Do this BEFORE you attempt another mission. You might have other files or folders in here, so just zip these and attach them to a post here.  I'll make sure it's on the Testers' bug thread too.

Without me opening this up in the Mission Editor, what was the campaign, the IAP, and airfield. I need some details, I'm ready to report it.

This is a persistent bug, and it happens every time the mission starts on runway, and the player is not the flight leader. I started a new career with a different IAP, and it's the same.

Same problem here.

 

Also from the airfield Leninsk

13 IAP (i think, have to check later)

Battle of stalingrad, operation Uranus. 

First three missions went fine, but after that the flight leader request taxi and turns around on runway. 

It happened at the first ferry mission we got, a few missions later we got a bomber escort and leader + wingmen take off as normal.

Funny I started 5 career's, I use runway take off exclusively, I never seen any problem, even with 6 aircraft taking off in pairs!

Neither have I so far, but think about the number of different airplanes and start dates for careers. Most players don't experience a problem. But players assigned to Tushino in the MiG (second phase of Moscow) and I think at Anapa in the FW (Kuban) have.  Clean living on your part...

Just to confirm it does not affect all Mig careers I have been flying Migs with ground starts in 34 IAP since the first day of BoM and that has been OK.  The squadron has now moved from Rzhev to Vnukovo for the Seige Of Moscow phase and done two or three missions there. Still no problems with take offs.

I had similar in my second career mission - also 9th GIAP at Leninsk.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I wasn't implying that all MiG careers were knackered, I thought some folks had reported problems with MiGs at Tushino. If I'm mistaken...my apologies.

I had this happen with the 9th GIAP at Leninsk in BOS as well. Unfortunately, I moved on and didn't save any mission files.

The problem is that once one got stuck with ground starts (Tushino confirmed as a bug), generally moved on with air starts, and very few people are left with testing ground starts. Now that Roblex says 34 IAP is fine with ground starts, I too will return to ground starts.
