[MOD] Correct Markings for Kuban Official Skins

Mitthrawnuruodo and TG-55Panthercules, I created a 4K skin for the Official La5s8 for Valery Chkalov that you may wish to consider in your mod replacements.  Below is the link to the one I'm using as the mod.

The thought just occurred to me that you could have more "Official" skins in the MOD than were present in the game as Official by just continuing the numbering.  Interesting.

Thanks very much!  would have been a shame to not use all those nice new skins because they didn't have the historical markings.

I can't speak for Mitthrawnuruodo, but that's beyond the scope of what I'm trying to accomplish with these replacement packages.  I really only want to focus on replacing the existing official/default skins with essentially the same skins, just with the historical markings instead of the pseudo-swastikas.  Obviously, the basic methodology underlying these mod packs can be used to do the kind of substitution you have in mind, and maybe someone will want to do a 4K replacement pack to replace all of the official/default skins with 4K versions at some point.  But I'll leave that to someone else.

 

Oh, and BTW - just for grins I ran a little test on your supposition above about adding more "official" skins by continuing the numbering scheme, and as I expected that approach does not work (at least not without further investigation and location of some sort of text or other files that maybe could be changed in order to signal the game to add those additional skins onto the "official skins" menu page).

I have been able to put together a set of existing custom 4K German skins done by various skinners with the hakenkreuz except for the Bf110E2.  Granted, some are not the exact default skin but they're close.  Some are unnumbered like the official defaults.  So the Bf110E2 is really the single aircraft in need of a default with hakenkreuz more than any other.

 

If this is of any help for the Bf109F2 and F4 I am using BlackHellHound1 default 4K skins from here:

 

Of course if 4K skins are included the normalmap should be as well.

 

Also, that's interesting about the additional numbering not working.  I wonder why they would limit it.  Oh well...

I created a 4K default for the Bf109F2 with hakenkreuz that I'm using.  I used BlackHellHound1's F2 template but added a yellow rudder and mottling for his F4 template.  I thought I would share it in case anyone might want to include it.

Do you have this for other campaigns too? I don`t fly Axis much, but I hate history being erased to suit `pc` retarded attitudes.

Its not "attitudes" rather the *law* in certain countries. But there are other closed threads that cover this. Just fyi

In the UK we just found a guy guilty for a gross insult of making his dog do a Hitler salute. He`ll probably do jail time now. There isn`t even a Law against it, but with `pc` now there is.
