Campaign missions since moving to Tushino airfield

I have tried two missions since the squadron was moved to Tushino. Both of them at the start, the planes just sit on the airfield, engines running, not taking off. Prior missions from the initial airfield in the campaign, we would get flares, then we would take off one at a time, all within a minute or less. Now, at Tushino, no flares, the second plane in line revs his engine like he is going to move, then stops. Then everyone just sits there interminably.

Both missions, I waited awhile, setting the time advance to 8X to see if anyone would take off; no one did. So after awhile, I went ahead and took off by myself to see if I alone could complete the mission. Of course, I have no waypoint marker ahead of me, (I'm in normal mode), I just follow my map. About halfway to the action point, in the first mission, my flight leader takes off with one other plane, leaving the rest still sitting there, one with his engine off! I then quit the mission and restart it. The second time around in the same mission, the whole flight finally takes off after I am nearly at the first waypoint.

Hmmm, I missed that one wolf, I was looking to see first if anyone else had this problem.

I had it too, Tushino is obviously bugged, and you may encounter ground start problems at other airfields as well.

Currently the only workaround known to me is to use air starts instead.

I am having the same problem as well. Glad I'm not alone.

Fortunately this is easily resolved with Air Start.

I have to say, however, I loved that when my regiment moved to Tushino, I had to do a ferry flight there, at dawn. It was a beautiful flight in the rising sunlight, and I had a great view of Moscow. :)

Airstarts are ok I guess, but doesn't that cut into your reward, or XP, or something at the end of the mission? Besides, taking off is half the fun. Hopefully they get it fixed quickly, maybe a hotfix.

Do we still have XP as a feature? I haven't noticed any feedback at all in-game regarding XP points or what not. I don't quite understand the promotion system that much either, but I expect "XP" is more of a matter of how many sorties you've flown. I could be wrong though - I've yet to be promoted since I have multiple careers ongoing.

There's no such thing as XP any more. Please leave the old campaign mode dead and buried. :)

It would be great to have some explanation concerning the promotion system.

I was promoted from Junior Lieutenant to Lieutenent with 11 sorties (9 successful), 12 air kills/6 ground kills and 6 hours of flying time being on "moderate" difficulty. Which is that matters (most)?

I don't understand it either.
