Using Custom Skins for non-Player Aircraft in Career Mission?

Hello Everybody,

I'm truly enjoying the new Career feature!!  For me as a single (non-multi player) pilot this has taking the fun of this flight sim to a new level!!  It did the same for me as the Career component in Rise of Flight did for allowing a true feeling of immersion into the game.  In Rise of Flight I was able to open up the current career mission and change the skins of all participating aircraft.  I've tried to do the similar process in this flight sim but have not been successful.  I've tried changing the skin designation in the mission file located here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\Missions\_gen.Mission

As I'm assuming this is the location of the current career mission.  But when I change the skins in the file within the Windows NotePad Editor and return to the game, all of my changes are not acknowledged.  I've tried exiting the game at several points in the mission startup sequence trying to get the right time for the game to recognize the edits but to no avail.  In Rise of Flight I could exit the game after the mission was generated, edit the skins for all of the participating aircraft in the Windows NotePad Editor, return to the game and have a very enjoyable mission!  I've even tried using the BOS/BOM/BOK Mission Editor to complete the skin re-assignment but have not been successful.  Is this possible?  Thanks so much for making this flight sim the VERY best on the market!!!

Cheers!
