Azdack Posted March 18, 2018 Posted March 18, 2018 hello everybody Is it possible to have his own face picture to choose in career mode as pilot's picture? Thanks for answers
Feathered_IV Posted March 18, 2018 Posted March 18, 2018 Not at the moment. The current portraits are built up from an identikit of facial features, and there hasn't yet been a way found for extracting readable files from the game. I've already tried modding them, but apart from the png extension there is nothing to indicate what size, shape or format is required.
Wolfram-Harms Posted March 18, 2018 Posted March 18, 2018 It would be nice to have that alternative, to use our own pics. If only just 3 slots for each flyer, that would be great.

Trooper117 Posted March 18, 2018 Posted March 18, 2018 In my lowly opinion, the new portraits are awful... I really do hope someone in the modding scene can modify these and let us put more realistic and historical pilots into the game. 1

I don't think the facegen is terrible (although you do have to "roll" a few times to find a portrait worth using) but if "historical" portraits are integrated in to the game, I'd prefer that they aren't well known pilots or aces.
Danziger Posted March 18, 2018 Posted March 18, 2018 Yeah I am not sure how people would feel about us using photos of their relatives in a game.
CraigNT55 Posted March 18, 2018 Posted March 18, 2018 I truly enjoyed the fact that in Rise of Flight I could put my own face portrait in the career file. I liked taking authentic photos of World War I aviators and superimposing my own face onto theirs in PhotoShop. Some of the results were pretty hysterical! But is was real fun and made the careers more personal. I hope that we will be able to do something similar in this awesome newly released career feature!! Cheers! - CraigNT 1

There are countless pictures of WWII pilots freely available all over the world... in all the years I have been playing these sims, there has never , ever been a complaint about their use as far as I am aware... I can't even believe you thought that one up mate...

It was the subject of discussion on the Russian forum.
Wolfram-Harms Posted March 18, 2018 Posted March 18, 2018 I understand that point - and I had always wondered about it. But wouldn't it be possible to provide each pilot with a rack of 3 - 5 slots for his own pics? They could be limited in size and type, and to put a new one in, you'd exchange it for an older.

Ok, fair one But just as we can make custom skins to represent a historically marked aircraft, it would be great if it were possible to have historical portraits of pilots on our own PC's that can be added, via a mod.
