I think, also, it depends on the squadron. Maybe some squadrons were withdrawn for certain periods during the battle, and that is modeled? Havent gotten that far in the campaign yet myself.

This is my guess, too. But then there should be a warning for the player, so he can think about transfering to another squadron, to stay in his campaign and not having a break.

No i wasn't injured, but i also thought the same that it might depend on the squadron and have some historical significance. I was flying JG52. I don't mind if that's the case and strongly support historical accuracy, i just wanted to know if it was a bug or intended is all.

That would not surprise me as it is apparent they put tremendous effort into making the Career as historically accurate as they could.

The Spit Career in Kuban is a good example of this. You can only fly it during the dates it historically was flying during the Kuban battle.

Nice info, thanks.

I'm currently playing rear gunner career in He-111/Ju-88:ph34r:... In so far like 10 sorties or so, on hard difficulty my flight haven't encountered superior force, also every time group was instructed to attack targets over hostile land (understandable since group flies medium bombers).

Played some missions in attack aircraft such as IL-2 and Ju-87... they are by far more dangerous to operate than level bombers... I think it's pretty safe to say that you probably wont get to see the end of the war in attack aircraft no matter how cautious you are.

Necro move.

How do u play rear gunner career? Just put on autpilot and goto a gunner position?

Yes, precisely.

For more realism, more or less same position every time.

The worst odds you can get in this game is if you play attack aircraft rear gunner. Everyone targets you in a slow unmaneuverable plane that is carrying load. Practically not a chance to see the end of operations.

Hahaha thats a career Illl nevee take. My pilot was a gunner in 110s first anyways ;);)

Seriously im such a lousy gunner (compaded to the ai... )  not happeninv unless we get b17s or 24s.  Though if I HAD to pic one Id want to gun an A20 over the other death traps

So does anyone know how exactly difficulty works? Density only affects ground forces or air one as well? And difficulty changes number of planes and AAA + their skill level?

Resurfacing this zombie thread - still really confused about what exactly the difficulty settings (and all the settings under "Options" dropdown) do in the career mode - has there been any documentation on this from the devs?
