Blackhawk_FR Posted March 17, 2018 Posted March 17, 2018 Hello, This equipment on the G6 is dedicated to radionavigation. But how exactly does it work in the game? In QMB, it guides us to an airfield nearby when we respawn, but only one (approaching another, he'll still guide us to the same airfield). Also, I tried it once online, but it did not indicate anything. So I guess it's up to the mission creator to place a beacon on the map (on an airfield or an objective)? It could be interesting on some experts servers/campaigns, with low visibility condition. And if the equipment is dedicated to navigation, why is there a horizontal trend bar? Is it a kind of vintage ILS? And even better, is it exploitable in the game? Thx you!
Sokol1 Posted March 17, 2018 Posted March 17, 2018 (edited) Is like AFN-2 and RPK-10 already existant in the game (Stuka, Lw bombers, Russian planes), but work in simplified way (relative to RL), just point the tower in the nearest airfield and not the radio signal, so don't have the inversion characteristic - if the mission maker has included one. Are several topics about how this radio aids work in game, e.g. In IL-2:46 (4.10+) this radio aids use is modeled more close to RL (with adjusts in Course Setter, Morse Code...) - but is considered complicated for "new players": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWrUnwHc4Kg Edited March 17, 2018 by Sokol1 1
