In the market for new headphones/headset, needing help

I'm trying to look for a good pair of headphones right now because I usually play when it's quiet hours and earbuds just arent that comfortable over long periods of time, do you guys have any recommendations?

 

I've done a bit of research by myself but I'm totally new to this field and trying to find out where to start takes lots of time if you really want to find the best pairs (opinions vary of course) but I just want a good pair of headphones.  I've heard gaming headsets are marketing bs so idk if you guys concur.  I'd mostly be using these headphones for IL2.  It's about the only thing I play at the moment.

 

Here are my requirements:

- under $50

- microphone (preferably one right in front of your mouth)

- Noise cancelling (I've never had one of these before and they've always seemed cool)

 

Most people say open headphones provide best audio quality, what have been your guys' experiences?

Gaming headsets are all marketing and all, from a audiophone point of view, suck.

I highly recommend Duel from Fnatic: https://shop.fnatic.com/products/duel-modular-gaming-headset

 

It's actually a TMA-2 headset that originaly is produced by AIAIAI which is modular and upgrade-able if you want to. I had the original TMA-1 and i was looking to buy the TMA-2 but the rebranded Fnatic Duel is less than half the price with very good sound. If you don't mind the Fnatic label as i said I highly recommend it and you get the bonus of being able to upgrade them, replace parts etc.

They come with a mic and they are comfortable for hours of use.

 

P.S: I understand they are double the price you were asking but definitely excellent value, don't think you can find better with less than double their price.

Man those look real nice.  Unfortunately, like you mentioned, its out of my budget quite a bit rn.  Thanks for finding these though.
