What happens when you run out of planes in Career?

So..... due to my poor flying, I ran out of planes and there are only about 5-6 pilots left in my squad. I was wondering if there were any consequences for this stuff. I was still able to generate a mission after I ran out of planes, granted the mission was already planned before I ran out of the planes. (it was the second mission of the day).

 

Career mode is super awesome though either way. I was just wondering about the plane limit.

You eventually receive more planes and pilots to the squad on the next day. The game might jump a few days in advance, as it does when there's bad weather.

 

A bigger question is: what if the enemy runs out of planes? The mission editor is quite amazing, have you opened one of the generated missions? But there's only so much it can do by itself, I'm sure there's some deep code used to generate these missions and I wonder how that works, maybe a tester can tell us:

- if an enemy squad loses planes or pilots, are other squads used to fill in the gap?

- if an enemy squad is low on planes, should we expect less planes in the air? For example, after a few really good missions, my squad had obliterated 24 enemies (14 me), mostly fighters. At one point, I saw a flight of 7 bombers with just 2 escorts, whereas before they usually had 4. Was it thanks to our actions?

 

Also what happens on the ground?

- if a unit is destroyed, does it get replaced?

- if a unit sustains heavy damage, does it get extra air defenses?

- if there's a gap in the front line, does the enemy push forward? or does that only happen at phase changes?

- can a phase change trigger sooner or later if my imba squad stops Hitler by itself?

 

So many questions...
