sevenless Posted March 16, 2018 Posted March 16, 2018 Hi folks, i just started a new campaign and I have to say that I really love what I see here. However with bomber escort missions or other long missions I think it would be sensible to increase the possible time compression to 16x or even 32x to avoid long times of non-engagements for the player while baby sitting the bombers to their target (100 km and more). Perhaps you can program it so that every time enemy planes enter a radius of 2 km ( maybe less ?) of players plane the time compression falls back to 1x (real) time ? This game really looks gorgeous and I am totally hooked by the new campaign. Am collecting notes what might be sensible to improve. One further point would be to keep players skin until further notice. As it is right now, it falls back to generic every mission I start. Further the squad mates don´t have appropriate markings (2, 3, 4 etc.). Would it be possible to integrate that in future patches? Thanks for your consideration. cheers 1
Gambit21 Posted March 16, 2018 Posted March 16, 2018 Actual 8x acceleration would do it. I don't know about you, but on my system, 4k monitor, there's no actual time increase after 2X in a normal mission, after that the external camera will shake faster, but the mission doesn't actually progress faster. In a very simple test mission, with just a single flight of aircraft for instance, the time actually does accelerate to 8X...on an actual mission, not at all.
sniperton Posted March 16, 2018 Posted March 16, 2018 In career mode, time compression doesn't seem to have any effect in 3.001. No matter what you set, the mission goes in real time. Today I had dinner on my way back to base. 1
busdriver Posted March 16, 2018 Posted March 16, 2018 As Gambit posted, currently only 2X acceleration is available.

Well I haven´t been looking to the clock while in mission, but maybe the overlong escorts I did where really due to the fact that acceleration isn´t working as supposed. Might be one bug for the to do list for the next patch. Can anyone else confirm that time acc isn´t working as supposed and shown as 4x, 8x in career mode? However 16x might nevertheless be helpfull here.
Gambit21 Posted March 16, 2018 Posted March 16, 2018 They know - no additional confirmation needed...that's just how it is right now. This isn't new.
CanadaOne Posted March 16, 2018 Posted March 16, 2018 I had my tablet on my desk and listened to a podcast while en route.

Luftschiff Posted March 16, 2018 Posted March 16, 2018 So that's why the flight back took so damn long!

Godspeed Posted March 16, 2018 Posted March 16, 2018 (edited) Yesterday i think that weird how long it takes to fly full mission even time was at 4x & 8x in travels. ( Even Checked the Plane Clock and did not see it ) I feel bit dumb right now Edited March 16, 2018 by Godspeed

Thanks, Gambit, good to know that it's a dead horse we have to live with. I suppose it's also well known that old saves cannot be loaded, right? Edited March 16, 2018 by sniperton
