CIA_Matabo Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 I've noticed that the seating position of the pilot in VR seems to be too close to the dash. This seems to be in all aircraft now. Has anyone else noticed this anomaly? Is there a way to set the pilot position the way we do for TrackIR? I'm now flying in VR full time even though it's not as competitive as using TrackIR due to the 1 to 1 movement, but it's definitely fun! I'm hoping that the seating position of the pilot can be resolved. I've only spent a short time flying in 3.001 update, so if I notice anything else I'll add to this post. You should've heard be laugh out loud when I flew through a cloud and saw the moisture on the windscreen, total surprise just too damn cool! Cheers, Metabo
Ribbon Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 You can always get a bit closer to the sensor than center view and after sit normal, so you can adjust your distance in cockpit!
dburne Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 When first getting into the cockpit I normally adjust my position ( in the Spit I am little far back), then hit the VR-Recenter button ( have assigned to my HOTAS).
Herne Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 (edited) there is also a bit of a fiddly way to change it permanently. You have to go into the game without VR. Adjust the seating position and set it as default by pressing F10. Then go back in to VR to see if you got it where you want it. I had to do this for the spit and P40 because by default I felt I was too far back, it bothered me that it looked like I would struggle to reach the virtual stick or peddles Edited March 15, 2018 by =FEW=Herne 1
PanzerPajamas Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 I found that I can now lean right out of the (closed) cockpit in VR, so something has certainly changed.

The planes that I set up the seating position with TrackIR and the F10 save are fine in VR, but the new planes I have not set up for TrackIR yet. I believe that after I do that the VR position will be better also. And yes, The lean and recenter will do a quick fix until you use the recenter again. Thanks to the devs, the graphics in flat screen are fantastic and much improved in VR as well. Metabo
SCG_motoadve Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 Does anyone get long pauses when turning icons on and off in career mode? Gameplay is very smooth , even with icons on, but everytime I press the key to turn them on is a long pause, then smooth gameplay, press again , another long pause, then gameplay continues smoothly.

Can't say I have really noticed it, will make a point to check again on next mission I fly.
SAG Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 yes, stutters when de/activating the HUD or the map, ive also read people reporting the same in regular monitors, apparently part of the solution is to turn 4k skins on and turning vsync on. the latter we cant do in VR 1
PanzerPajamas Posted March 16, 2018 Posted March 16, 2018 Now that I recall, the leaning out of the cockpit occurred while trying out the new user-made MP feature. I assume the server settings allowed this. A recent mission in the new Career mode confirmed to me that the cockpit boundary still worked fine. I've also noticed the delay between de/activating the HUD in VR. Hopefully there will be a workaround/fix for this in the near future. 1

For most aircraft it is about right but not for the Spit where the default position is too far back from the breakout panel on the left side of the canopy. Best way - sit in cockpit and look around. Try to figure out where in that space your head is. Then look at images of the aircraft in flight or even just look at the pilot head position using outside views. Disable VR and restart - shift your head forward and bind that position. Enable VR and check. Repeat until you are happy and do it for all aircraft as necessary. von Tom
