Update keeps downloading past 2.7gb and doesn't stop

Ho hum.   I was hoping to try the update tonight and rushed home, with a $30 tub of fancy Japanese icecream to distract the Mrs.

Alas, the update downloaded and is continuing into infinity.  I've heard of this problem before, and although it makes a nice change from the Failed to Update error I often receive, I'd much rather be checking out that P-39. 

 

Has anyone found a fix for this apart from a complete wipe and reinstall?  I've just deleted the updates cache to see if that works, but the download speed is extremely slow.

For me the patch was 3.2gb, not 2.7gb like everyone here is saying.

Strange at least one other member (yankee one on page 1 of the 3.001 thread) also reported his download as being 2.7gb. 

40mins before I have to hit the sack...  hopefully I can get it working soon.

Steam is 3.2, maybe that's the difference?

Yeah, the Steam version is always bigger for some reason.  Mine's the version bought here.  28.21kb\s...

Have you tried closing down the launcher and starting it again? That has worked for me with other updates (I had no problems with this one). Me experience is that the download continues from where it left off when the launcher was closed, but with faster dl speed.

It happened to me once. A stopped update and start again. It was fine then
