variable Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 (edited) I just noticed this issue flying the P-39. My pitch trim adjustments have no effect on the aircraft. The little dialog appears saying +/- 100% trim but the aircraft stills tries to climb and requires about 20-30 deg forwards on the stick. I am currently using a Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 (USB). Edited March 15, 2018 by variable removed video, didn't show issue.
CanadaOne Posted March 17, 2018 Posted March 17, 2018 I have this same issue with a few planes and am also using a MS FFB2. My trim adjustments are on the keyboard.

Right, I gather you mean that this trim for force feedback joysticks didn't work before 3.001? I guess I didn't really fly any aircraft with elevator trim (or were defaulted to fairly level flight). The P-39 is really poorly trimmed by default so it's very noticeable how ineffectual the elevator trim is.

There was always difference between dumb and FFB sticks in my experience. The trim works but not to the extent it works with a dumb stick. It doesn't make the game unplayable though. you just have to apply a little pressure here and there. But that can be a little wearing in a long climb out in an 88. Sometimes transitioning into a turn especially in something big can feel odd too with a few unexpected little bumps and knocks. So not perfect but not a deal breaker for me. Ive not flown the P39 for more than 5 mins so cant comment on that but the 109s and P40s reach their max trim level for speed earlier for sure.

I find it very difficult to fly with the amount of forward stick I have to apply to maintain level flight - let alone a dive. Trimming elevators also tends to cause some strange roll FF as well (maybe that's intentional)
