Problem launching the game

Hi,

 

it’s not a 3.001 problem since it was happening before, but would like to know if I’m alone who have a black screen when launching the game?

 

I always have to go Ctrl+Alt+Delete and « cancel » to go into the game. It’s just very annoying and don’t really know what’s causing this bug.

 

I also tried to reinstall the game completely one time, but it never fixed that.

I also have this weird bug 50% of the time I launch the game. I have to restart it to make it works. Don’t know if there is a corrupted file or not.... there is no repair option unfortunately

Well... I reinstalled the game and now the launch problem is gone, but I think I found the problem with the artifacts/screen glitch. It’s only appearing in FULL SCREEN mode. Don’t know what’s causing that, but until they find a fixe, I will play in Windowed Mode (which actually enable Xbox Game Bar for recording, so a good point for windowed mode).

Nic727, I have also the black screen problem when launching the game (also before the 3.001). I've reinstalled the game but the launch problem is still there. 

Any help would be very appreciate.

Since the 3.001 update, game CTD every time I try to start a "mission" whether it be quick, career, etc. Offline or online makes no difference.  Have deleted and re-downloaded the updates folder numerous times.  Just completed an 18hr ordeal of uninstalling and downloading the entire game and it worked once.  After it worked the one time, I shut my PC down, came back and relaunched everything as usual, trackIR, MSI gaming app, fan controller, etc. Although I bought and downloaded from the IL2 site, Steam is running in the background, always has been. On game relaunch, it crashes to desktop either at the login screen (rare) or when I try to start after selecting any mission.  Always the same error about something going wrong (their words) and reporting it to Microsoft and then given no option except to shut the game down.  Not sure where to go from here except to abandon this game. I wanted to get Kuban, but if I can't get Stalingrad to work, not sure that would be wise.  CLoD works fine, DCS works fine.  PC is a home built (by me) of fairly new origin and everything checks good.  I have cleaned up all SSDs and done what I can to keep a fairly clean PC.  I am on a 50mb fiber connection hard wired to the router. 

 

Looking for ideas on where to go from here in my search to make this work. Thanks.

After reinstall I think it’s better for me, but playing in windowed mode and not full screen. If I start full screen, I have the weird glitch shown in the video. But no more black screen for now.

Nevermind. Found the problem.  This version (or maybe the game in general) doesn't get along with MSI's Gaming App.  I was using in CLoD and DCS to run a slight overclock on my MSI GTX1060.  Shut the app off and the game launches and works just fine.  I don't notice the difference between  the stock clock and the overclock anyway.

Hi,

I do not have anymore the launching problem but the black screen issue is still there. Now it happens while flying... sometimes after a few minutes, sometimes after a couple of hours. I don't know what to do to fix the problem but is very annoying.

Cannot start game due to steam_api64.dll missing. It is standalone version, not steam version. Any ideas?
