=38=Tatarenko Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 (edited) EDIT: This bug turns up with 4K textures NOT ticked. Ticking it in settings solves 95% of it. When a plane is in clear sky but against a background of clouds you should be able to see him perfectly clearly. However I get this - see screenshots. It looks terrible. Anyone else? Finkeren Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 It's as bad as ever, I agree. Really wish something could be done about it. 1
Semor76 Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 Yes,bad as ever and the thin glowing white outline is still there.... 1
SqueakyS Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 Same here. Seems to be worse than I remember and a lot of flickering at the edges of clouds as well. 1
Wolf8312 Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 (edited) I think whenever you change the cloud settings (I changed from high to low) or even just when it first loads up, the clouds go totally cuckoo but if you verify the integrity of gaming cache they should at least be back to what they were before. Pupo Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 (edited) I too suffer from this effect, but always assumed it was because I played in "Low" settings. Is this "effect" present even in "High" and "Ultra"? Edited March 15, 2018 by Pupo

Is this "effect" present even in "High" and "Ultra"? Yep it’s a lingering issue that has been around since way back in BoS early access, when they introduced new clouds to replace the ones carried over from Rise of Flight. The devs have stated repeatedly, that they are well aware of the issue but haven’t been able to work out a solution. 1
kendo Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 Don't have this. Playing in Ultra with clouds set to High.

Unless you have something magical in the gpu driver settings , you have it too. Sometimes planes are rendered fine, sometimes not. For me its not an issue. I have different priorities
=38=Tatarenko Posted March 15, 2018 Author Posted March 15, 2018 FIX For the Cloud issues - change to 4K textures ticked.
wowbagger Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 4k textures fixed the stuttering for me, but not the clouds. The clouds always look like they are roiling, boiling, and twitching, and when a plane passes in front of any cloud the plane suddenly looks very low res with no anti-aliasing. Apart from the clouds though the game looks and plays gloriously!

Jason_Williams Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 It's not worse than before. It's always been this way. It is because the clouds are not aliased the same as the planes. If we did the frame-rate would be in the toilet. It's gonna be this way for a long time. Please overlook it. Nothing we can do at the moment. Jason
=SqSq=switch201 Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 (edited) Quote Unless you have something magical in the gpu driver settings , you have it too. Sometimes planes are rendered fine, sometimes not. For me its not an issue. I have different priorities I made a post about this in the VR section because I assumed this was a VR specific issue, but I guess not. a couple things I noticed in my testing was that the wired effect only occurs when the object (the plane in this example) is under 2K away. Another thing I noticed is that the effect, though still present, seems to be reduced when cloud detail is set higher. The fact it stops right at the 2K mark is interesting to me. Quote It's not worse than before. It's always been this way. Again I can only speak from my experience in VR (I have never tried the game in 2D). As Jason said this effect was present before the 3.0 update, but in my personal experience I was able to mitigate the effect by turning AA all the way off. I have noticed that after the update lowering the AA to 0 no longer works in fixing the issue. In that sense the issue's behavior is different. Like I said above if I turn the clouds up all the way with AA turned off it seems to be as good as it was before the update. Edited March 15, 2018 by =SqSq=switch201

Did try advice from Jason but didn´t solve the problem. Well, someone from the team will figure this out, eventually
