SCG_Fenris_Wolf Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 No problem, take one Hangar / tent, cut a hole in the roof, light a fire with the captured Vodka or some fuel.
RothbardVso1*3 Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 I'm playing an ironman 110-E2 career in Stalingrad. About ten or twelve missions in, always either intercepting bombers or attacking soft convoys. For some Peshka drivers and gunners thw war is over, and I've even managed scratched down a few fighters who were silly enough to fly in front of me whilst covering aforementioned bombers or convoy. At this point in my career, I don't know if I remember how to land a 110 with two functional engines...but I NEVER forget the vector to the friendly side of the lines. I write it down

But I shudder to think about the experience of being a LW ground crew in Stalingrad in January Working on engines in 40 below would be a nightmare scenario. I've read accounts from Bf 109 pilots stationed inside the Stalingrad Pocket that their ground crewmen would pass out from exhaustion after simply turning the handcrank on the engine. It was a brutal time, for sure. 1

It was a brutal time, for sure. It must have been hell on earth for them. Basically no significant amounts of nutrition since the pocket closed 23rd November. IIRC 250.000 men got encapsulated, 91.000 surrendered and 6.000 ever returned home. The rest starved to death, died from diseases or enemy fire. Can't think of a greater agony in history.
