Wolferl_1791 Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 I use a joystick axis for the mixture. These planes have a full rich at 100%, "rich auto" at 66% and "rich lean" at 33% (or whatever that is). I'm guessing that in the real plane there are tactile pauses to allow you to stop at the desired place, but my axis is smooth. I don't mind looking at the control level to check its position BUT... - do i need to be at exactly 100, 66, 33? - what happens if I'm at 80 (it's closer to 66 than 100), will it still go auto? It would've helped if the lever animation would jump to the place instead of having a smooth animation.

Any plans from the devs to make this behavior more apparent? I can give 2 solutions: 1. add extra text to the "Mixture xx%" hud gui messages for the relevant planes "Mixture xx% FULL" or "Mixture xx% Rich Auto" 2. Make mixture lever jump between preset positions when the threshold has been reached.
Archie Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 You could mark your mixture lever body at the appropriate places to give you a visual idea.

I use the throttle axis of the T16000M stick, which has plenty of notches already. Apart from the fact that I play in VR, I can already see the lever position in game. But at 66% for example, it doesn't line up with the white notch as you'd expect. But if LukeFF is correct, then I have 15% on either side of it, easy to use like this. But my suggestions would certainly help clarify it, especially for newcomers.

What exactly is the range in terms of percent? When I do happen to be at exactly 66%, I'm gettting a Tech Tip warning to adjust fuel mixture. I'm guessing that this Tech Tip is in error, or is it something else? Edited March 14, 2018 by SeaSerpent
