ponhard Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 A experiment to make a "realistic" ww2 gun camera. Enjoy! 11 5
Finkeren Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 Simply amazing! Really, really good job. And then there are people claiming, that the damage effects in this sim doesn't look like the real thing.
Wolfram-Harms Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 Very good effect and video, Ponhard - it feels like watching gun-cam-footage from the real war!
Dutchvdm Posted March 17, 2018 Posted March 17, 2018 Spotted this one on youtube earlier this week. Best guncam edit i’ve seen!! Grt M 1
ponhard Posted April 5, 2018 Author Posted April 5, 2018 (edited) Many thanks! It was fun to make! I will make a b&w version soon! Edited April 5, 2018 by ponhard
=LD=Hethwill Posted April 5, 2018 Posted April 5, 2018 Excellent vid ponhard ! How do one places the camera like that ?! Was playing with the replays and didn't get myself around it... Anyway, will take your visuals as inspiration.
HenFre Posted April 5, 2018 Posted April 5, 2018 Amazing video. The effects are spot on. If you make it in B&W it will be perfect. What program did you use to make it?

I think it's Alt + F2 so you can switch between fixed positions around the plane. 17 hours ago, HenFre said: Amazing video. The effects are spot on. If you make it in B&W it will be perfect. What program did you use to make it? I use Adobe Premiere Pro, both editing and color correction. And I recorded the sound from an Super8 projector. 1 1
IckyATLAS Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 Very nice the grainy film effect. One additional effect that you should try to replicate is the luminosity variation. The image brightness would vary a lot on those gun cams, and create a kind of flashing. There was also an image jumping effect probably due to very high vibrations when guns were firing.
Guest deleted@134347 Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 sweet footage, man.. did you record the track at 90fps (or higher) and then slowed it down in Adobe to 24-30fps? It has the effects of the real time flying but in slo-mo.. Definitely a nice trick for the gun cams!
CAPSLOCK_ON Posted April 14, 2018 Posted April 14, 2018 Very nice vid! Great effects also. I just posted my gun camera footage with a different approach (only gaming tools, no editors, except for YouTube's own soundtrack added on upload) and got really hooked to it, it is nice to have your own gun cam records.
