Stephen Hawking has passed away at 76 years old.

I have always looked up to this man growing up, and I am very sad about his death. He lived a pretty long time for someone with his condition.

I wouldn't exactly call him humble, nor did he have any reason to be. He was an amazing human being and the greatest possible advocate of science.

RIP.  A pretty good run all things considered.  My own father only lasted 4 years with the same disease.

An old colleague of mine just passed away. He lasted only slightly more than a year after getting the diagnosis. 

 

Hawking's disease progressed unusually slowly though.

Sorry to hear friend... It's an awful disease and a HUGE burden for the family.
