How many of us wait the next season? Personally, im hunting down every little news about it.
Whats your favourite team?

Lance Stroll seems pretty cool. He’s a Candian, and the youngest driver to get a podium position in his rookie season. He did so last year, so it will be interesting to see how he goes now with even more experience under his belt.

I'm a McLaren fan and am glad to see they're doing far better than they were this time last year... although the irony is not lost on me in regards to Honda's performance in the Toro Rosso! Still, at least that means Brendon Hartley will have a fair chance of showing if he has what it takes.

Im sure Alonso  will make use of all the performance he can get from McLaren. Last years Silverstone Quali was excited because of him.

Yes, hes capable to get more points. Hope he can get far more than in the last year.

I follow Hamilton, have done from his first F1 season... I met him at Buckingham Palace when he got his medal, he was a very pleasant young guy, very chatty and friendly, plus he did me a nice favour when asked...

Will there will be more racing and less parades this year?

Shows are part of many sports today. Just watch a superbowl match, there is concert in the half time and etc.
But you're right. More exciting races, even in the rain - that would be very good.

Looking forward to it personally!
Mercedes's dominance is slightly reminiscent of Ferrari's in the early 2000's. It'd make for a nice change to see another team win the championship.

RedBull, Ferrari and Mercedes all seem to have very competitive packages, so this coming season should be very interesting.
I really, really hope McLaren does better this year, although that remains to be seen, given Renault's, Torro Rosso's and Sauber's performance.

With a hopefully much more reliable car, I'm also excited to see what Max Verstappen can do!

Perez vs Ocon should be hot !

it will be great for a sunday afternoon nap i guess ...

Last time i watched it the speakers were talking about 'tactics' and which driver can spare his tires the best. For the most part they just circle after each other with seemingly no intention of overtaking. I know it still requires tremendous skill to do that, it's just boring to watch.

Also there are not many likeable drivers i can think of. Verstappen? Vettel? No, thanks. Alonso? He was/is constantly crying about his car... as if he would be forced to do this . Only driver i liked was Kimi, but he seems to be on his way out (is he in there for this season at all?), being a second after Seb.

As an RB fan, I always liked Ricciardo.  Daniel is one of the coolest and most funny driver in f1 at the moment. With Verstappen, they make a very funny duo :)

I didn't like how he publicly whinged about the engine (I think he was playing mind games) but I do think he drove some of his best races ever last season, all this time in F1 he still has what it takes!

+1, I think Ocon is faster but Perez is tougher and will try bully Ocon with mind games if he's too much of a threat.

Daniel is cool, comes across as very likeable and is much more inclined to give an honest answer to interviewers rather than just spouting a safe party line.

No more starting grid girls, err women, this year.

Pfffttt....F1 Sucks nowadays.

I've been a big fan for many years, and I haven't seen a really GOOD season since the Prost/Senna days.

I even stuck with it through the Schummacher, Hakkinen 2 car race snooze-fests (and snoozed through many of those races)

Close second to Prost/Senna might be when Villeneuve almost took the title his first season...that was a nail-biter. Pretty good season when he took

the championship out of crybaby Schummacher's hands (when Michael intentionally crashed into him)

Since then however, with the exception of a really good race or three during a season, the sport is a drag.

Too much tech, the cars are not the beasts they used to be, neither are the tracks.

When Villeneuve retired I lost quite a bit if interest, but I watch here and there.

If you want to see REALLY good racing,  I mean lead changes from corner to corner, and the race often coming down to a sprint to the finish - Moto GP.

Forget whether you're into motorcycles or not, if you want a good race that's where it's at.

I miss CART - used to go to Laguna Seca every year...but that sport was ruined as well.

NASCAR was ruined with restrictior plates and Dale dying.

It all mostly sucks is what I'm saying.

I need SPEED back so I can watch WRC...that there you have the best drivers in the world...messing up means going off a cliff.

rant mode off.

I really don't think it sucks.

I'm glad I'm not old enough to have watched F1 in the 80's/early 90's. The racing looks fantastic, but I don't think I'd enjoy watching a sport where there's a distinct possibility (or in the early days even a probability) of someone dying. I just couldn't enjoy watching that.
Agreed, once Hakkinen retired it became a bit repetitive. But 2009 was a fun year with Brawn, and the 2016, 2017 seasons were quite exciting with some good racing.

It may not match the Prost/Senna era (not that I'm able to judge) but the racing now is miles more exciting than it was in the mid 2000's.

The sport peaked in the early 70's really (I was a toddler and wasn't watching) arguably the late 60's with those beasts running Cosworths, biased ply tires and no wings.

Lots of deaths though. Clark and the 49, Gurney and the Eagle.

All the tracks have been neutered - only Monaco remains in it's original configuration or close to.

They went and finished ruining Imola after Senna's crash.

Raaid when you get here, STFU.

I crush your GPL times!!

70's 80's and early 90's were the glory days. F1 today is a shadow of it's former self IMO.

I could watch the Master all day using the track as his canvas and his car to create an automotive work of art.

I am pulling for the American team. I think they make some progress this year. I still have not gotten used to the halos. Overall I agree with Gambit though regarding the excitement of the sport.

I think Bubi was talking about the racing product itself, not an actual prerace parade.....

I must admit it wasn't the most exciting race ever, Melbourne is a bit of procession unless there's something to mix things up like light rain. Still, it was interesting to see Vettel make use of the virtual safety car to ninja Hamilton although I do feel a little sorry for Kimi.
What I wouldn't give to be a fly on the wall at Haas' team meetings in regards to those pitstops! ;)

How would you change F1 so it is not so boooooring?

For me, would be limit the number of persons over the 'wall' during pit stops.

More driving less computing!

More emphasis on mechanical grip rather than aero so the cars can follow a lot closer and thus have better chances for overtaking.
Unfortunately the flip side of that would be slower over all lap times, which wouldn't bother me personally but others could fairly point out that F1 cars should be the fast things around.

A few changes I'd propose:

- get rid of DRS; it makes overtaking frequent, but boring

- make pay for teams more equal; the current differences between what Mercedes, Red Bull and Ferrari receive in comparison to, say, Williams and McLaren, is ridiculous

- remove Singapore from the calendar

- increase amount of available engines to 5 per season

The Romans would have turned it into an arena sport you burk    plus it would be renamed ''Formula Death Race'' (all weapon types allowed)

Anyone else watch the China GP? After the snore fest that was Bahrain it was great to see Red Bull really pull something special out of their arse, 'driver of the day' award goes to Ricciardo for being so mighty after the safety car pit stop and the sympathy award goes to Kimi for yet again getting dicked by both his team-mate and the team :P
