AA_Engadin Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Hairising to say the least. At least you can shotgun them down in your country. Don't you dare in mine should things ever turn out the same way here. AA_Engadin
II./JG27_Rich Posted December 30, 2013 Author Posted December 30, 2013 As it so happens I'm in Canada I hope to god they stay out of this country
HeavyCavalrySgt Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Hairising to say the least. At least you can shotgun them down in your country. Don't you dare in mine should things ever turn out the same way here. AA_Engadin Shooting them down in the US would be unwise and illegal, but that is different from saying I don't think it will happen. 1
HeavyCavalrySgt Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 In a way, this makes me a little sad. I live in Nevada, one of the test states, and I can see a lot of the jobs that are done here now by manned aircraft being taken over by drones. There are quite a few experiments to measure fuel load prior to wildland fire season, check on potential mines, look for underground water, etc using sensors mounted on light aircraft that I could see moving over to drones resulting in potentially fewer or at least different flying jobs. 1
TheBlackPenguin Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Perfect for moonshine deliveries to rural areas... 1
Feathered_IV Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 I just need a small one to bring me tim-tams.
mudpuppy Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 One of the test sites is a local University in Virginia. I'm curious to see how far out they'll range in the development phase of these drones. It may inspire more private citizens near these test sites to start playing with these if they see them flitting around. I think the FAA is still working on regs about private drone usage in the US and if I'm not mistaken they have already issued some orders to commercial photographers that have operated drones (cease and desist orders). It should be interesting to see how they approach regulating this technology that is developing so rapidly.
Mastermariner Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 They who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety B Franklin
HeavyCavalrySgt Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 They who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety B Franklin Is that relevant, or just a good thing to remember?
Feathered_IV Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 They who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor SafetyB Franklin Sounds like a threat.

Mastermariner Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Duh! It's for the children! Yup! The wood picking children and the wedding parties etc. But not in the good ol US. At least not so far. Master
