Maybe under operational conditions the following distance were not used but in training the downward leg was flown 2km from the runway and the turn to final was 3km from the runway threshold.

Has anyone flown the 262 in a career mode now available through “Mods” or PWCG? I was wondering if light bomber formations (like the A-20) are encountered if they behave like bombers & stay in formation or if they “break” like fighters? Flying a couple of German fighter campaigns I occasionally encounter light bombers but seldom in bigger formations usually 2 or 3 bombers with escort . I’m weighing a career with the the 262 but knowing its short comings in fighter vs fighter combat I’d rather pick & chose my targets ( read light /medium bombers,) but would like them to behave as if they were on a realistic mission. 

   Of course with the new Bodenplatt map & aircraft all this could become academic  as careers will have the new map and a B-25 with perhaps a new very definitely medium bomber FM?

For what it's worth, I made a small practice mission for the 262 which includes 2 formations of 4 A20's. 

They try and stay in formation and follow their route until shot down, so should be ok for you. 

The way enemy react can be determined in the ME by 3 'priority' settings, as I recall. So it might depend how this is set up in whatever mission you're playing.
