II/JG17KaC_Wolfe Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 I have recently noticed a small number of players on the normal server deliberately and repeatedly crashing their Pe2s on enemy airfields. Their icons disappear and they remain there in the gunner positions shooting up spawning aircraft. If there is only 1 airfield on the map it essentially kills the game. Others Players (from both teams) have tried to persuade these individuals to stop this behaviour but they simply ignore all entreaties and seem to delight in upsetting and distorting this game for others. What can be done about this (if anything) given that it absolutely makes the game pointless. Some of my own thoughts were Why cannot the base AAA shoot these planes to destruction ? Can each map now have multiple airbases to counter this ? Is it possible to report to the developers this behaviour and identify the individuals responsible so action can be taken to revoke their licences ? Banning doesn't work in game as insufficient players do this. Please help Developers
6./ZG26_Custard Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 "Player" behavior on dedicated servers is not the responsibility of the developers but the admins who host the server. I understand your frustration but one thing to look forward to is Coop mode. Hopefully that will sort out most of the issues of random "individuals" who want to spoil everyone else's enjoyment of the Sim.
=LD=Hethwill Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 Have not seen this behaviour in the times I connected to my favourite servers. In any case the server setup, at least in Coconut, does take into account the friendly fire penalties and does indeed block them from connecting for a while.
No_85_Gramps Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 A few months ago a couple of guys were doing the same with the HE-111. It's not a friendly fire issue, crash land Pe-2 on a LW base and snipe spawning aircraft, or vice-versa w/the HE-111. I'm guessing that the plane is not seen by the AAA, as it has crashed. It's a fairly rare occurrence but frustrating when it happens. Personally, I think it is something that needs to be fixed by the developers.
=LD=Hethwill Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 (edited) Ah gotcha. Now I understand what they do. They game the game, so technically they can land anywhere and use the gunner at ground level... Still I think the thread title is not correct. They are not "killing the game" as there's enough servers, SP, etc to enjoy it fully without these situations. Edited March 5, 2018 by =LD=Hethwill
JaffaCake Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 Its a scummy tactic, but I'm not entirely sure what they get out of it. Is it fun? In my view it looks nearly identical to a vulching tactic some people use. Similar outcomes too. I have seen this happen sometimes on WOL but they usually get strafed to death very quickly. And you can always take a bomber and kill them with gunners yourself. AAA usually fires at parachutes, so I see no reason why it can't fire at a destroyed aircraft until all of the crew is dead. Server admins could set up multiple airfields too.
CanadaOne Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 Vulching at spawn points is childish cheating. Plain and simple. Even I know that.
Nocke Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 I changed my mind on that. To spawn, and find your airfield beeing subject to a well executed raid is something quite exciting. And it happened. That bomber landing shit is, of course, a different story. But yes, recently, if well done, I enjoy getting vulched
CanadaOne Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 If you spawned inside a bunker, and if there was some AAA on the airfield, then it might make for some good fun. But if there is just some clod hovering overhead picking off planes as they spawn at the end of the runway ,hmmmm, not so much fun maybe.
Ropalcz Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 (edited) Well, vulching at least could be called a tactic or strategy. Crashing on the airfield and then spraying spawning planes is basically exploiting a mistake in AAA´s behavior It could be called glitching in my opinion. Edited March 5, 2018 by Ropalcz
Trooper117 Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 What they need is for someone to stand on their gonads... Hard! Maybe then they would stop being twats.
CUJO_1970 Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 Send tracks and screenshots to server admin via PM if you have to. DED Rapidus I think - he post (infrequently) in multiplayer server thread. There is a whole cadre of trolls on Russian side on Normal server that are doing this as well as team killing and they are ruining the game. They get shot down in their Yaks, become enraged and join German side and start team-killing. I have many tracks recorded showing this.

Well one thing is teamkilling, which is clearly a bannable offence. But I wouldn't mix in airfield vulching with that, completely different and doesn't go against the rules of the game. Unless I'm wrong and the server in question forbids vulching?
=LD=Hethwill Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 (edited) Usually solid server scenario setups have good ack ack around AF to give a challenge to vulchers, at least for a while. Edited March 6, 2018 by =LD=Hethwill
