IckyATLAS Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 (edited) I was just wondering. Those who bought already like me or will buy BOK will get at the same time the update to version 3.001. Those having BOS and BOM but not buying BOK are they also getting 3.001 update applicable to their BOS and BOM. After BOK release, those buying instead of BOK say BOM or BOS do they get them updated at 3.001. I mean is 3.001 update separate from BOK. How is this managed? Edited March 5, 2018 by IckyATLAS

[APAF]VR_Spartan85 Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 Yes we will all get this update, and only if you buy the plane packs will Get those planes.
Herne Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 BoS/BoM players will enjoy the updated increased view distance, clouds, and rain effects, and the careers for the respective game packages. 1
OrLoK Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 As posted above, we all have the entire game on our PC's Purchasing a pack simply unlocks those items. This is why you can see planes ingame (and maps in MP) that we don't own. It's quite a clever system.
CanadaOne Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 Is there a way to keep my present game the way it is and have another version with the update? I'd like to have both for a bit just to compare the graphics.

You will only be able to play the one you want to keep 'as if' offline and may need to disconnect your network before starting it. 1

You wont be able to login online though, only offline 1

I appreciate that, but the problem is that the game, even if you want to play offline, won't let you play if you don't update. You hit "offline", but the game still phones home. (Not crazy about that.) Not sure if just turning off the net when turning the game on would suffice, of if the game simply "knows" there is an update anyway and won't start at all, even if there is no net connection.
TP_Silk Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 (edited) As I say - you may need to keep the network cable.wireless connection disconnected so that it can't check with online servers An alternative would be to install it on a second machine then disconnect that totally from the network. It's a convenience thing to make sure that the game you're playing is the game up to date. It might sound redundant to someone who is computer savvy, but it really helps people with less than average computer skills. I constantly hear of people playing previous versions of the game they bought only because they didn't know how to actively check for updates, this avoids that problem all together. I did just check without an internet connection and the game will allow you to play and just gives a message saying "Attention you can launch the game without internet access, but Campaign, Multiplayer and player profile will be unavailable". It makes perfect sense as those game features are internet based. . 1

CanadaOne Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 And five(!) new planes, assuming you bought the Collector planes. Christmas in March.
senseispcc Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 The 3.001 and the BOK end install should be the one and same thing?!
Wedgewood Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 2 hours ago, senseispcc said: The 3.001 and the BOK end install should be the one and same thing?! Yes, and it will be the same regardless of whether you own just one or all of the games in the series.

TWC_Ace Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 (edited) Yes but if he doesnt buy BOK then he wouldnt be able to play on kuban map which is loaded in MP server....nor he will be able to fly his (purchased) G6 on that map... Edited March 9, 2018 by blackram
SAS_Storebror Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 That's just wrong blackram. On a Multiplayer Server you can fly on any map and you can play any of your purchased planes if the mission maker enabled them. For instance, when I'm hosting a Kuban map on my MP Server with all planes enabled and I jump the seat of my Bf 110 G-2 (or even my purchased Ju-52), my colleague who just owns BoS and BoM can join, see the map, and even man the gunner seat in those planes, even though he doesn't own any of this. Cheers! Mike

Well he can play the kuban map on MP. You do not need to own Kuban to fly Kuban in MP. So I also see no reason why he could not fly the G6 in MP, or even in the quick mission builder on any of the moscow / stalingrad maps

TWC_Ace Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 (edited) @Herne @Storebror - I stand corrected guys. Thanks for clarification. Good news anyways as I dont have BOK yet but would like to try bf109 G6 and LA5FN @Finkeren - lol mate we know that. But dont forget this is still a game and we can twist something for fun :-) Edited March 9, 2018 by blackram
Finkeren Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 Oh believe me, I play mostly on the lighter airquake servers (due to a limit of how much time I can sink into each session) so I don’t mind. The accurate settings I save for SP and coop.
senseispcc Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 Yes, I hope that the 3.001 patch shall be the end patch for BOK. But still I am not certain it shall be so?!

At the very least there will be a multitude of hotfix patches. That's inevitable with such a huge amount of diverse content.

Mostly the end yes. With 3.001 we'll be content complete (based on all statements to date) with the exception of some additional mission types for Career mode. It's shipping with 25 (which is more than Campaign mode has ever had) and 38 are planned in total.
