[TWB]Sauerkraut- Posted March 3, 2018 Posted March 3, 2018 As far as I'm aware, some of the finer details and potentially adverse situations that one could find themselves in when flying aren't modeled in game. I'm talking about things like Icing during humid days in the winter, whether it would be on the ground or while flying. <-- I would love to see this one modeled. It would add a whole new dynamic to winter maps. I'm talking about instrument failure, whether due to poor maintenance or battle damage. (This may be in game but I've certainly never experienced it if that is the case). I'm talking things that could cause a pilot to lose his aircraft simply due to negligence. Things that would force a pilot to pay closer attention to his situation, and IMO, add to the immersion. Thoughts?
Flitgun Posted March 3, 2018 Posted March 3, 2018 I'd like that too. Threads like this there's always someone who'll come along and remind us that time = money and dream on and get real. But nevertheless, I'd like it - even though I do understand this sort of thing does not necessarily fit in with the 'BoX recipe'. p.s. projectile hits will blast holes in the instruments themselves, causing them to fail - I don't think damage elsewhere on the plane will cause instrument failure.
Ribbon Posted March 3, 2018 Posted March 3, 2018 (edited) Your instruments can be damaged from battle, happen to me many times. Once i crashed few meters away from runway cos i didn't notice airspeed indicator was stucked so i stalled. Also two days ago flak rip off my left flap on 190, i didn't noticed it until i went for landing and barely get alive when i deployed them (remaining RH flap). Drag was huge! I also had few times damaged labding gear, not sure was it LH or RH but i noticed it after i hit the runway. Circle over autoflak and you'll find out many details they modeled in DM. But hey new improvements and detailes are always welcome . Edited March 3, 2018 by EAF_Ribbon
dburne Posted March 3, 2018 Posted March 3, 2018 Yeah pretty sure I have seen damaged instruments before, can't remember the exact situation that caused it...

ATA_Vasilij Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 you mean things like: water in the cockpit when its raining. wires or pipes destroyed by shooting and waving freely in the cockpit, el. wires sparkling and making bzzzz noice, rest o destroyed instruments moving all around you in cockpit, Snow really remaining on its place when falling down to your plane, to the ground, etc... icing conditions as you mentioned, and also blurred glass when breathing a warm air from your mouth, Much more loudly sound of engines, when opening the window, birds in the sky, civil planes in the sky, surface of plane looking wet, when raining, etc.... yeah would be nice.
