KastaRules Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 (edited) I looked through the forums but couldn't find any info so I'll ask it here: -Have the developers tried to make IL-2 run in VR by natively supporting the Oculus SDK instead of going through SteamVR? If so, was there a performance improvement? If not, would it be possible to give it a try? From the latest update by Laminar Research for their simulator: Quote we investigated the relative performance of X-Plane through the native Oculus SDK versus SteamVR and what we found, through data collection is that the overall experience for Oculus users was better by going through the Oculus SDK directly. [...] we found that going to the Oculus SDK directly got us about 25% improvement in frame rate. Edited March 5, 2018 by KastaRules 2
dburne Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 (edited) As far as I know they have not, when they implemented VR for BoS they stated it would be done only through Steam VR. I guess they figured they could capture both Vive and Rift users at that time using Steam VR. I would love to see native Oculus support at some point down the road, I think they have their hands full with other things right now. Heck I would love to see them not only get that but also get the game listed on the Oculus store like Elite Dangerous is. Might increase the Rift user base for the game.
