il-2 bos stuck in launch screen

Hey guys, figured I'd post this weird one for you all. Been playing il-2 bos for a long time with no hiccups until a few weeks ago. I log into steam to play and log in goes ok .It sends me to the il-2 login screen as usual and I type in password and hit enter.........and nothing. I hear all the intro music and sound effects and intro graphics are working........but no launch to main menu. Just the pinwheel indicating that its "working on it". Only way I can get out of the screen is to ctrl/alt/del. Either go into task manager to end task, or log off. Contact support and go through forums, and get a lot of suggestions.....(.nvidia drivers, file integrity check, antivirus, firewall, etc).....the list goes on. Backtracking to any changes made over the past few weeks, I remember that I installed a 4 port insignia usb  hub to clean up the joystick and rudder pedal wiring......could it be???? didn't think it could, considering il-2 cod blitz, DCS, and war thunder have all been working fine. Well to my surprise, that  was the problem. Guess there is some kind of conflict or bug when using thrustmaster warthog controls through a usb hub that prevents the game from launching. Needless to say, the hub is in the trash and I'm back enjoying il-2 bos. Don't know if anyone has come across anything like this, or has any  explanation, so figured I'd post in case anyone is having some issues and can't find any solutions.
