P 40 E1 radio mast: 3D model error ?

Hello everyone !

I've started this thread to ask you a question.

It seems to me that the P 40 E doesn't have a radio mast.

It has three radio cabels: one behind the cockpit and one per wing.

Is our P 40 a special variant only used in Russia ?

I don't know about the mast but there are several other errors in the model.

Which ones ?

If you google pictures of P-40E used in Russia as well as by USAAF, you will see both versions with a radio mast and without.

If you do such a search you have tons of pictures of every P 40 models.

Is there a proof of a radio mast on E model ?

"The plane of Safonov was provided with a more powerful radio, probably from an Hurricane, and a mast of light color (or unpainted) bended on the right side, well visible on photos."

So, as I understand it, this is a field modification installed on at least one Russian P40 E.

Do you believe that it will be possible to choose to have the standard P40, as it was delivered through land lease ?

As this is just a modification, will it be possible to have it in the hangar and to switch between the standard aircraft and Safonov's ?

This is the same for I 16 and Yak 1 (not the Yak 1b).

On the Polikarpov figther radio was very rare. Most planes flew without it.

On the Yakovlev on five aircraft, only one was fitted with a complete radio systeme. The others had just a receptor and thus no radio mast.

The possibility to choose these equipment in the hangar would be nice addition to improve realism.

At this point, I highly doubt it.
