Can I start IL2 directly without Main-steam screen in VR?

I have to enter the game set VR in graphic settings - exit again and start. Then it's in VR and it's with steam-VR but not Steam screen itself, which lowers the performance. Can I save the VR setting perminantly?

I am not sure I am totally understand your question.

 

Are you running the Steam version of the game, or the non-Steam version?

 

I myself am running the non-Steam version.

I have both Steam and Steam VR installed ( have to have Steam first to get Steam VR).

I do not run Steam. After initially setting up for VR in IL-2 graphics menu, when I launch IL-2 it:

Launches Steam VR ( not Steam)

IL-2 Launches and I am in VR with the game. I only had to set this up initially the first time, each time after that it always starts up this way for me.

 

If you are running the Steam version of the game, I would expect you would just launch your game from within Steam, which would launch Steam VR as well.

 

Not sure I understand why your performance would be lowered by not running Steam itself.
