Zoom view function - can it be disabled?

I've just started out with this game after many years with the original IL2 and then Cliffs of Dover and I'm finding the zoom in view function distracting.

 

I use a joystick hat switch and keyboard numbers to look around in game and each time I select a view it is automatically magnified. While this is useful for spotting ground objects I would prefer to have it as optional for air combat.

 

Is it possible to assign this to a single function so that I can select it only when required? I've looked at the options available in the game's menu and not seen anything appropriate.

Many thanks for the link tapi. I'd watched that video before but looking at it again I now realise that for each aircraft it is possible to reduce the amount of zoom by pressing the key or button assigned to move the pilots head back. Once the zoom factor has been reduced pressing F10 locks it into place for this angle of view but only for that particular aircraft.

 

I'll have to go through each aircraft and adjust the different viewing angles. That should keep me busy for a while!

 

I'll also have to investigate whether I can zoom the view when required but retain the new setting.
