cenkcnk Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 Hi guys, I play this sim not so often. So i don't have a deep knowledge of its features. My pc specs are below. Although i am using 4x aa setting, i see lots of shimmering. And performance is not that fluent. I don't want to use reshade or sweet fx or this type of addons. And i heven't done any changes via nvidia cp Can you help me with the graphic settings i7 2600k 4.3oc gtx1070 8gb 16gb ddr3 ram game is on hdd
Boneboys Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 You should be using the Sharpen and Landscape Filters I believe.
ACG_pezman Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 Well I'm surprised you aren't using the "Ultra" setting, maybe that would fix the issue? The 1070 should be more than enough with 8GB. Other than that, people used a program called Nvidia Profile Inspector, or Nvidia Inspector, to adjust MSAA super-sampling and other variables beyond what nvidia CP, the game, or any addons can do. Personally, my pc can't run this game on anything but low, so I don't know what the shimmering they are talking about looks like because everything looks crappy. So i never attempted to fix it, if I even have it, I'm still not sure.
Boneboys Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 Oh lôôk... https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/34257-sharpen-can-it-be-modified/?do=findComment&comment=576277
dburne Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 You should be using the Sharpen and Landscape Filters I believe. This. Look at Landscape Filtering, set it to on and select either sharp or blurred. I personally prefer sharp. It is basically AF for the sim, should get rid of most shimmering.
szelljr Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 ???????i7 2600k 4.3oc gtx1070 8gb????????????????.....ALL FULL!!! pfff i have I5 -4460,gtx 960(2gb)...i cant use full ,but you? lol.
Wolfram-Harms Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 (edited) You may try out to switch SSAO and maybe also HDR off, to see if you like that better. Also, you may reduce GAMMA CORRECTION to 0.8 to have less blinding brightness. It is also important, what the settings of your graphic card are. They can override the game settings. blitze Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 In Nvidia Control Panel Turn off: - Antialiasing FXAA - Antialiasing Gamma Correction, - Texture Filtering Antistrophic Sample Optimisation - Texture Filtering Trilinier Optimisation and - Tripple Buffering Set AA in the control panel not in game either 2x or 4x In game set Gamma to 0.8 SSOA and Antialiasing to off I don't use ground texture filters but I do use HDR Shadows are medium or equivalent and same for mirrors General Setting is Ultra and Grass to Normal. This gives me around 120 - 144fps at 1440p offline and around 80 - 110fps online pending on using hud or not. Hud seems to kill 25% frames when used so I use it only briefly for when I hear a message come through. This is on a Max-Q Nvidia 1070 with i7700-HQ and 16Gb ram notebook setup. Should be better for you with a desktop setup by near 10% ))
cenkcnk Posted February 18, 2018 Author Posted February 18, 2018 (edited) using nvida panel instead in game, gave me worse aa image. now i tried ultra settings and lower gamma and sharpen check box gave me better image. i think i will stick to it. thanks for the tips Edited February 18, 2018 by cenkcnk
blitze Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 In game AA comes at a price but it depends on what res you would be running at too. I don't mind Nvidia AA at 2x at 1440p (27"inch screen) and when at 1080p, I'm on a 15"screen so I don't notice it )) Also calibrate your monitor and if it is a Benq with Backlight Compensation on it, turn that off.
