SCG_motoadve Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 I like sharpen in a way that makes things more alive, less blurry, but adds a bit too much shimmering too. So I end up turning it off. It would be nice if we can modify the amount of sharpening. Is it possible to modify this by changing the value in the file?
dburne Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 (edited) Look at landscape filtering, do you have it on and set to "sharp"? I think it is like AF, and if I recall when they added that it really helped in the landscape shimmering. I run mine set with Sharpen checked, and Landscape Filtering set to "sharp". Also have 4x AA. I hardly see any shimmering. Edited February 17, 2018 by dburne
SCG_motoadve Posted February 17, 2018 Author Posted February 17, 2018 You just game an idea and it worked. Used Sharpen, and blurry on terrain. Now is just how I like it, more lively without the terrain shimmering.

Never mind found it, gonna check this out myself now! Damned shimmering! Edited February 17, 2018 by Wolf8312
SCG_motoadve Posted February 17, 2018 Author Posted February 17, 2018 Option name on terrain is blurried

Thanks alot!

I do not use HDR or SSAO, for me it looks better without it.
KG200_Volker Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 (edited) I would highly suggest to test this (its a Game changer and all squad uses it now), instal reshademe https://reshade.me and use these three filters without changing them at all. Adaptive sharpen Clarity Luma sharpen If you do it give me a feedback Edited February 18, 2018 by KG200_Volker
dburne Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 Volker are you flying in VR? AFAIK reshade has no effect on the VR HMD.
56RAF_Roblex Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 How much framerate drop does Reshade give you? I have read that Clarity is one of the worse things for dropping framerate. I only have a 1050 so I cannot use anything that takes too much out of the GPU.
13Nrv Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 (edited) "How much framerate drop does Reshade give you?" about 1 to 2 fps with MY system ....oh and there s a tool inside reshade , that show you in real time if there ' s a fps cost or not and how much ...for each effect you use , it s not totally perfect it s approximative but a very usefull tool though . I' m using lumasharpen +tone map +lift gamma gain + clarity . CLARITY has absolutely no impact on framerate at least on MY system . Adaptive sharpen on the contrary is a fps killer for ME , again on MY system ... and that' what it's look like : Il-2 2017-10-21 23-16-10 by 13 Nrv, sur Flickr krasnodar vue ensemble by 13 Nrv, sur Flickr Il-2 2017-10-21 22-31-21 by 13 Nrv, sur Flickr And here are my graphic settings in game , see my config in my sig , my screen is a HD one 1920X1080 . dburne Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 Ops, my mistake, no vr for me. No problem I thought that might be...
SCG_Fenris_Wolf Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 13Nrv, this is the VR section. Reshade doesn't work for VR.
Wolf8312 Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 I found eventually I prefer landscape filter set to blurred. Sharp and sharpen have their benefits but to be honest I like a blurred effect in VR because it serves to hide textures that would otherwise be very exposed.
