KatieLuna Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 I would really love some new camera angles. The current ones are great, but some serve little purpose. E.g. the wing looking in angle is excellent for showing maneuvers since rolls are emphasised through its position at the tip of the wing. But some have much less use, such as the one on the belly of the aircraft, which is only really useful for showing bomb hits, etc. which typically is only useful for heavy aircraft, unless the Fw190A5/U17 is your thing. The guncam is nice, but in my experience isn't too useful, as it typically does not offer a frame of reference, i.e. no host aircraft shown. So I propose these extra camera angles for better cinematics (btw, I love the external camera that shakes about, that's great): A Top down camera angle, looking at the whole airframe, and able to see all the damage to an aircraft. This would be good for enhancing "killcams" in cinematics, by showing the shots fired, and unless a wing falls off (I always prefer to watch those fly off from afar), the camera will be able to display the incoming fire, and where it damaged the enemy. Bullet cam. I think this would be relatively easy to do, but I'm not an experienced programmer. Basically, as soon as the shots are fired, the camera view goes from the end of the barrel to moving with the bullets, and attaches to the impacted object to show the effect of them, when the bullets hit, so for example if a fw190 fires, the 20mm shell will have the camera attached to its tip moving towards the lagg-3, and as it hits the camera switches to the camera discussed above, to show the damage. This could of course be done by the cinematographer, but I think this bit of code would make it nice and easy to get damage shots in, and would make high deflection shots look even nicer, as the bullet and the aircraft converge satisfyingly. A camera on the ground, from the perspective of a soviet farmer/hunter (complete with pitchfork or mosin! ) , as they watch a battle (and track an aircraft). Be it high in the sky with beautiful contrails wrapping around each other, or low flying P47s lawnmowing hype , this camera I think would make it more immersive, especially as it could be set up where you "place" the farmer, so you could have your p47's prop touch his hat, or wingtip whack his nose. However you wanted it set up, I think it would be great addition to the toolkit,
