Blitzen Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 (edited) I downloaded & adjusted the Tray tool to the specs found in this section, but one thing always worried me in its application: does it need to be "directed to where the Il-2BoX is installed or does it apply automatically to the Oculus install & from there go to all the various VR games & tools I have installed. If it is the former ( i.e. needs to be directed to the BoX install ,) what is the most direct way of doing so? i know , I know ,I should have asked a long time ago .... dburne Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 No, the Tray Tool itself does not need to be directed to the game directory at all. I use it with profiles set for my games. If you go to the profile tab, you should see a list of your games. I don't remember but you may need to launch BoS one time for it to get added to the game directory. Don't use the launcher, just use the BoS.exe. It should also put a shortcut to launch BoS in your Oculus Library as well. Then in profiles, you can set certain settings for the game. I use it to set BoS for ASW off, and SS of 1.5. I also use the Tray Tool to set both audio and mic to the Rift when it launches. Then I have it set to revert the audio back to my default speakers when Oculus closed. Hope this helps, it is a great utility.
Blitzen Posted February 15, 2018 Author Posted February 15, 2018 So far no joy.Its not in the profiles list.I've started the BoS from its exe. file in the maun game folder but it still doesn't appear in the list.I've tried targeting the BoS exe. file from the search option but that doesn't seem to work either...what's up?

I quick check to game seems to show better clarity...so.... Sounds like it is. You can turn the audio confirmation on and it will tell you when it is applying the profile. Should here it when you launch BoS. Also you can easily tell if you have the profile set to turn ASW off, no spinning prop gunsight artifacts. Edited February 15, 2018 by dburne
Blitzen Posted February 15, 2018 Author Posted February 15, 2018 (edited) I haven't looked yet but is the audio confirmation you mention included on the Tray Tool? will I hear the confirmation through my Rift earphones? I really want to thank you for your help .I've been using & enjoying Oculus from almost Day 1, but it has always had the jumps in the gun sight & ammo counters & had so-so definition on the exterior view of the aircraft,so any improvement is much welcome.Obviously even though I thought the Tray Tool was working - it wasn't .I shouldn't have waited so long before asking for help. dburne Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 I haven't looked yet but is the audio confirmation you mention included on the Tray tool? Yes, in the main Profiles tab lower left at bottom "Audio Confirmation when Profile is Applied". Put a check in there, and you will get the audio confirmation.
Blitzen Posted February 15, 2018 Author Posted February 15, 2018 (edited) Here? see Thumbnail jpeg. (One last ( I promise) thing; I get a pop-up in the lower left hand corner of my desktop that doesn't go away. You are probably familiar with it.It states that; Oculus Tray Tool is Starting up,please wait.I can't figure out what it means since i seem to have an up 7 going Tray Tool, not can I make it go away. What gives?) Edited February 15, 2018 by Blitzen

What gives?) That is a much older version, you need to grab the latest official version. https://forums.oculusvr.com/community/discussion/47247/oculus-traytool-supersampling-profiles-hmd-disconnect-fixes-hopefully/p1 Scroll down from the top till you see it, version 0.82.1. When I start OTT, I get that pop up in lower right corner of my screen, only for a moment or two. I have it set to minimize to systray upon start. If it starts properly, that message goes away. Try the later version above. Edited February 15, 2018 by dburne
Wolf8312 Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 (edited) Anyone know if the vive has a similar tray tool that can set game profiles with differing PD’s for different games? Edited February 15, 2018 by Wolf8312

Don there`s a audio setting in Steam VR or Oculus home that does that automatically , I think it`s Steam VR.
